Q:
Where is the wait list?
A:
They have an online waitlist, but it is always unavailable. Walking in to the front desk is the only way to get on the waitlist. Leave your phone number; they will text you. When they send a second text, your table will be ready for you.

My go-to place for dumplings and wonton soup.
I've been to a few locations in the Seattle area, all fantastic.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 9, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations1 check-in
So glad we were able to visit this location tonight. Our server Diana is so sweet and attentive.
Everything we ordered was excellent. Xiao Lung Bao was so tiny yet full of fillings and flavor. Pork potstickers and pork fried noodles were so good. Really love the wood ear appetizer. And our sweet desserts of red bean mochi xlb, taro bun, and sesame bun were all excellent. The orange iced green tea cools you down with a burst of flavor. Everything is just excellent.
With this experience, I am hopeful the newest location in New York City will be a great one. Will give the place a couple more months before I give them a try.
Please make reservations. It is so easy to do, and I was able to be seated in 5 minutes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anne D.Seattle, WA898202717Aug 7, 2024
Their HK branch is a Michelin Star rated restaurant and we get to enjoy their Downtown Seattle location.
Walking into the building is easy: Off Pine between 6th & 7th, at corner of Olive & 7th, and Nordy's skybridge. Underground parking at Pacific Place is available but public transit is always encouraged. You have the Westlake light rail station, the Monorail in Westlake Mall, and many Metro bus routes. It's close to the Seattle Convention Center, Pike Place Market, and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery.
If you have a special occasion, put this restaurant on your list. Don't get me wrong, I love my local mom and pop shops but I'm also glad that we live in a city that has internationally known restaurants too.
Don't worry about dressing up. I've shown up wearing blue jeans and a black jacket. I've seen others wear M's and Seahawks jerseys but if you feel like wearing that 3 piece suit or a ball gown, go for it. You do you, okay!
The vibe is there. The demand is there. The quality is there. XLB is a must.
If we have guests from out of town or if we want to eat somewhere before a concert or game this is where we go. Online orders are accepted but keep in mind they can get backed up during the lunch and dinner rush and always during major events. Don't waste time being on a waitlist. Sign up for a reservation as there are far too many things to do around Westlake.
If you can't make it to their downtown Seattle location they also have one at Southcenter Mall near Sea-Tac Airport. Most people who go to the Tukwila location are locals. It's smaller and they have free parking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 96351Aug 4, 2024
Finally!! This one was on my list forever, and I never managed to go the LA location, so what better than walking distance from our hotel in Seattle, right?
Came here on Thursday evening.
Firstly - the waiter was very attentive! I wish I could remember his name, but 5 stars to him!
We started off with Xiao long Bao -chicken. Delish!
I insisted on getting the green beans with garlic and the spicy wontons and both didn't disappoint. Green beans were steamed to perfection- muah!
Who thought I could go on and on about green beans!
Also got the chicken fried rice, and hot and sour soup (to indulge my greediness) and scarfed it down as soon as we could.
The place is huge! We got to sit by the window with a nice view of downtown shops.
For dessert, the insanely cute chocolate dumplings were just right to complete our meal.
Since I loved it so much, my daughter and I came back 2 days later for a post shopping snack.
Got the chicken wonton soup, and shared the crab dumplings this time. You can get pretty much anything on this menu and you can't go wrong.
Good portion size, not colossal American style.
This place needs to be on your checklist!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 23, 2024
Wow. Amazing Taiwanese Shanghai food.
Try the ribs (sweet but delicious)
All the dumplings are amazing as is the fried rice pork chops. And theyuzu margarita was a treat.
I would recommend making arrangements ahead if you have more than 2 people it's huge but just bHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi David,
Thank you so much for your fantastic Yelp review! We are truly grateful you had a wonderful experience at DTF.
We are looking forward to your next visit! - 4598431298Jul 26, 2024
Delicious, and Taiwanese approved ! We made a reservation online about a week prior to our dinner. There are two queues when you arrive - walk ins , and those with 2nd check in or reservations. We waited about 10 minutes before we were seated on a Saturday, they were very busy. You can watch the employees make dumplings while waiting via the windows.
Once we were seated, our server was the sweetest and so kind, explained the menu as it was our first time and gave us some solid recommendations. We loved everything, but especially the soup dumplings. I haven't had soup dumplings this cute, small, thin skinned and delicious in many years and not in the states. You could tell everything was handmade and has that great bite to it.
I especially loved the vegan spicy wontons bc we can't get these in Philly , they're always pork or meat and we generally eat vegetarian although cheated a bit on this meal for authenticity for XLB and dumplings. The chocolate mochi dumplings I think you could skip - it's really just super rich chocolate inside and not much else to it - but hey if that's your thing go for it !
This is located on the top floor of pacific mall, near the AMC. I'm so glad we went and so sad we don't have these back homeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Ordered takeout and it was definitely a bad idea!!! The soup dumplings did not really have any soup when I started to eat them. (Maybe dine in is a better choice for this.) The seaweed salad was good, very tasty.
The place was busy when I picked up the order. I arrived early and was told to wait for 10 more minutes. Eventually it took 15 minutes. Was a longer wait than I thought....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We stopped here for dinner as our first stop on our Pacific Northwest trip. My wife reserved this well ahead having received multiple recommendations to stop here.
The restaurant itself is upscale and typically served family style, so be prepared to share. It was packed on a Sunday night. I would highly recommend reservations although they do apparently take walk-ins.
I had just recently been to the location in Portland and had a pretty good feel for what I thought my wife was going to like, so we ordered the green beans. While expensive, they are very good. My wife also wanted something more refreshing and ordered the cucumber salad. I think she was disappointed because it was more of a Korean style oil based dressing and I think she was thinking it was vinegar based.
Of course, everyone comes for their Xiao Long Bao, which is a favorite of ours. I will say we were also a little disappointed here because while still very good they were light on the soup. My wife didn't know if it was normal or not, but it was significantly less than when I had it 2 weeks prior at the Portland location.
Those alone weren't enough for dinner after a long day of travel (and missing lunch on a plane). I thought she would like the beef noodle soup as she is a big pho fan, so we split it, but the beef was a little fatty for her taste.
That said our server was very attentive and explained things like mixing the sauces as it was my wife's first time.
Overall, we thought it was good, not great. Some things were just off with the food. I would definitely go just for the Xiao Long Bao.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Zachary,

Loved this location of DTF! Interior was beautiful, service was efficient, and everything came out really fast. Only waited around 20 minutes coming at 5pm on a weekday. They have an online Yelp waitlist too which is really helpful
-Lychee pear martini (5/5): loved this drink! so happy I got to try a cocktail here and this one in particular was so light and refreshing, and came with a whole lychee
-Fresh orange green tea (4/5): very refreshing! a lighter version of orange juice
-Truffle XLB (5/5): my favorite, has a whole piece of truffle in each XLB and the truffle flavor is really strong
-Cucumber salad, wood ear salad (5/5): very refreshing and crunchy, great appetizer
-Taiwanese cabbage (4/5): my first time ordering this and really delicious, slightly crunchy with aromatic pieces of roasted garlic which really added a layer of depth to the dish
-Shrimp fried rice (3/5): not my favorite dish (not the hugest fan of how the rice is cooked) but my friends loved it
-Shanghai rice cakes (5/5): such a hidden gem of a dish! The rice cakes were cooked al dente which made them EXTRA chewy and the vegetables were cooked well. Flavorful without being overly saucy
-String beans (5/5): my all-time favorite veggie at DTF. Quality is consistent across all locations
-Shrimp Wontons (4/5): really good, but I still prefer the XLB
-Pork XLB (4.5/5): classic
-Chocolate mochi XLB with sea salt cream (4.5/5): This dish came piping hot this time and tasted really good, but the star of the show was the sea salt cream. So addicting and light, I could literally eat it by itself.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
