Amazing place for alterations and dry clean! Andrew is extremely nice, accommodating, and detailed when it comes to alterations.

I had a glow in the dark paint in one of my dresses and 2 other dry clean places told me they couldn't take it off, but Andrew said it was no problem and took it out! I was so happy and relieved. Thanks Andrew and Divisadero Heights Cleaner for your great service!

Be prepared to be ripped off if you come here. I had a dress that I needed altered for a wedding - mind you it was a $5 dress I got from a flea market. I needed a simple hem so it didn't touch the floor when I wore it.

I came in with the dress and the person working the counter was friendly enough - he pinned it up in about 5 minutes and I was feeling hopeful that this would be a good service. However, the lady working the register quoted me $180 for hemming. She said it was a fancy gown with three layers of fabric apparently, each hem was $60. I left appalled and I didn't know what to do - so I quickly called around and got a better quote for $90 at a different shop.

When I called asking about the price, he said it was a very complex job that required special steam pressing to complete the job. After some negotiations, he said the best price was $150 and he'll throw in streaming for free. I ended up refusing the service and picking up the dress, after which he even tried to charge a consultation fee for 5 minutes of his time (even though he wasted over 30 minutes of my time).

Go here if you want your pennies pinched, but I would avoid this place at all costs.

This review is SO overdue but is well deserved! I got married last year and I came here to alter my reception dress, rehearsal dinner dress, and my day of vintage pj set. I could not be happier with the results! They listened to what I was looking for and also gave helpful suggestions to achieve my look. I also came back to get some honeymoon looks altered- I'm petite so a lot of pants, shorts and dresses needed to be hemmed and taken in. My items were handled with precision and ready in a reasonable time. Thank you for helping make my big day so special! I will be back soon.

This was several months ago when I dropped off my suit and dress shirt to have it dry cleaned before a wedding. Was told it'll be ready to pick it up on Thursday but i came in on a Saturday the day before the wedding. They said it won't be ready until Monday! It was unfortunate that nothing can be done. I had a backup suit that wasn't my first choice. It was very disappointing.
Otherwise they dry clean quality is like any other cleaners so not coming back here in the future. Price is a bit higher than other comparable places so I'll take it those places next time.

Gave them very complex and difficult indian clothing to alter. They did a good job! Decent prices, but very complicated work so I think it was worth it. They are also very sweet and friendly!

DHC has become my favorite local neighborhood spot. The family is so sweet, detail oriented and friendly. I've had several wedding event dresses tailored and dry cleaned here and they've been perfect every time!!

So appreciate how they've even helped me with quick rush alterations to be able to wear a dress in time for my bachelorette party weekend.

I've been taking my suits to get tailored by them for the last two years. Their recommendations and skills have truly exceeded my expectations every time.

I typically walk in just knowing that I like my suits/tuxedos fitted and that's usually all they work off of. I've trusted them with their recommended measurements and recommendation and always walk out with a perfectly tailored suit!

Highly recommend this local shop for all your tailoring needs, especially if you're like me and don't know what to ask for. They always deliver on the promised date too!

My Husband has known this business for years and recommended I contact them when I was struggling to find a tailor who would work on my fully beaded wedding lehenga. I have been going to Divisadero Heights Cleaners for several years now and they always have done a great job. Unfortunately, I brought my wedding dress in and the silk is ruined. They told me I shouldn't expect it to look brand new -- but it's completely dull and worn down. I reached out to my dress designer who said this shouldn't have happened and they must be using too harsh of chemicals. I'm extremely disappointed. I went back visibly distraught and they made me feel like I was being crazy. I was not refunded. I will not be going back here, which is sad because every other experience I've had was positive.

Moral of the story: don't bring anything expensive or of high value to be cleaned here.

John is the most meticulous and friendly tailor in the city. I've come here for multiple alterations and he always takes the time to figure out every little detail that needs to be done- no shortcuts whatsoever.

I stupidly tried another tailor closer to home for convenience and ended up with a ruined dress that I needed for an important event. I brought it to Divisadero Heights to see what they could do and John took so much time to help me figure out the issue/sorted it out beautifully. Thank you John!!! Master of his trade!

This is very very late, but I wanted to give a very positive review for alterations I had done here on a bridesmaids dress in the fall of 2021. I purchased the dress used and they did an incredible job correcting what were some poorly done alterations on the dress prior to me owning it. They were meticulous in their work and the cost was very reasonable. I also appreciated the good communication made when they requested I come in for extra measurements. I recommend this business for your alteration needs! Picture attached is the final results, fit like a glove!
