I really love desserts. REALLY REALLY love desserts. So much that I will eat desserts prior to my meal if it is available!
Drip Affogato Bar is located in Warehouse District of New Orleans, LA. Their slogan is "Coffee Falls for ice Cream".
I went simple and ordered Green Tea Ice Cream on Waffle Cone. The rest of my group ordered Affogato Desserts (Matcha Matcha and Vietnamese Coffee). I love the added touch of the stroopwaffel cookie!
Love the atmosphere, ambiance, and the ice cream itself!!
Would love to go back if I'm in New Orleans again!! MUST TRY!!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - Stephanie W.New Orleans, LA21214Jul 10, 2024
Drip is one of my favorite places in NOLA! I went on a Monday night and had an amazing time! The moment you step inside, the ambiance and decor immediately stand out. Each section is uniquely designed and it all comes together in a sexy and eclectic way and the play list is on point! Be prepared to take several pictures!
We ended up trying all the affogato flavors on the menu (flights), for some I chose the boozy option (liquor substitute for the espresso). The Franchise- boozy style was DELICIOUS! We also had a boucherie board, which had a variety of options and cheeses, I also had a De Luxe Pirogue drink which was really good!
Our server Keimonie* was very attentive and elevated the experience. We also tried the green apple cotton candy! I parked in the lot a block and a half up and was able to get a table shortly after they opened but I would highly recommend making a reservation, they were rolling for a Monday night! I wish they had a few more food options.. if so, I'd probably never leave, haha. They are also cashless and you pay from the device at your table!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicolette E.San Jose, CA322196218Aug 10, 2024
What a cool experience, a bar where you can go the coffee route, or boozy alcohol. Or, both!
I think the menu ideas were really cool and interesting, but actually did not taste the best. The ingredients used felt a bit cheap, stale, or just overwhelming. We got an affogato flight and opted out of any booze.
However, the bartender was extremely nice and sweet, and gave us some recommendations on some spots to visit in NOLA.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Nicolette, we appreciate the compliments but are deeply offended by your comments that our ingredients are cheap and stale. We purchase our gelato products directly from a company in Italy who's been in business for over a hundred years. We prepare these products fresh every day...So maybe you're used to grocery store crap thats full of preservatives and nasty ingredients and thats what you've compared us to...which is fine because thats what you prefer. However, I'm gonna tell Annagrazia, our gelato specialist from Italy who's family been doing this for over a hundred years that someone thought its cheap and stale, I'll bet she thinks you're full of sh*t too. Peace Out.

Came here in search of late night ice cream with coworkers and their gelato did not disappoint! I wasn't hungry enough to get a sundae so I ordered just the peach gelato. It was delicious and refreshing. The atmosphere feels more like a lounge with the decoration and couches than a typical ice cream place, which was a cool place to relax and talk.
They did not have a couple items on the menu that my coworker ordered, so our server made it up to him with a surprise piece of cake, which was nice of them.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 11, 2024
This is one my favorite bars to go to. The vibes are so fun. The music is always great. We always are able to get a table, and service is good. Not pictured is the espresso martini which is creamy. It's delicious but not everyone loves a cream based espresso martini. The lemon drop comes with gummy bears. Drinks aren't too expensive b it always so good.

My cousin was visiting from Atlanta so we were on the prowl for some night Ice Cream after having dinner at Tacos Del Cartel in the area. We found this location was close after searching "Ice Cream" here on Yelp! Once we walked in, got seated , we realized this was a fancy, trendy lounge spot! More of a specialty Ice Cream parlour as they have their own style of Ice Cream along with a full bar and blasting music! My cousin and I looked at the menu and decided we wanted something more traditional and simple so we left before ordering anything - BUT I WILL BE BACK when I'm looking for that type of night vibe!! Definitely a cute unique place!

I wasn't aware that drip moved locations but it was so necessary! This space is bigger than the previous which is great! It's still such a vibe! The music is always on point, the aesthetics on point, and the desserts ON POINT! I came here with a friend after dinner one night because we wanted a dessert but of course we ended up eating and drinking all night. We started with a charcuterie board and espresso martinis. Delicious! Our server was so cute and nice! She even showed us the private area that is available to rent out. It gave old school speakeasy vibes, love it! The affogato was of course delicious! The bananas foster one was the real star of the show!

Wow, Drip is top notch. The ice cream, drinks, and ambiance are amazing. The vibes and decor are upscale (yet casual), quirky, and eclectic. I love the idea of mixing ice cream, espresso, and booze. The menu is full of variety and creativity. For my cocktail, I ordered the espresso martini by weezy. It has vodka, espresso, rum crème, and coffee liquor. A delicious cocktail with a distinct coffee taste.
For the affogato creations, we ordered a flight of The Voodoo You Do, Big Easy, and 84 World's Fair. All three were delicious but the 84 World's Fair was SO GOOD!
I will definitely back to explore the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The new location is amazing! I didn't think the decor could be any better than the last location but they definitely did that! More space, same great boozy desserts! we arrived as soon as the doors opened & we were promptly sat. We preferred different seat and the host accommodated us with a section that was reserved until the party arrived. Talk about great customer service!
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 25, 2024Previous reviewHad a great time as always. Our guide was funny as hell, very knowledgeable about the entire menu even though I tried almost everything that night. My advice is always go boozy! shots after ice cream isn't too bad. The Decor is very urban / modern artistic chic, overall nice spot and great menu options.

Loved the vibe here. It was casual yet upscale. We went strictly to satisfy our sweet tooth and we were not disappointed at all. We opted to get our dessert with coffee versus alcohol and still had a great time. We ordered the Big Easy and 84 Worlds Fair and loved both! Go with more people so you can taste everything or opt for a flight.
Love the different types of seating throughout the restaurant, and the decor was eclectic. I wish we would've gone back a few more times while we were in Nola.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Jacy R.Orlando, FL112506Jun 16, 2024
It took them a couple tries to get out order right, but the food and concept here were really fabulous.
It went downhill when the bill came. Simply put, the bill did not match the prices on the menu. The manager even agreed and gave us a 15% discount (which was still higher than what the bill should have been) , but said he could do nothing more and had to go by what was in the computer not the menu. That brought us to the next issue.
The menu said said it was cashless, but the computer gave us the option to pay cash or use a card with a 3% credit card fee added to the total. When we pointed this out, he said cash wasn't an option. He kept blaming it on the owner.
Extremely predatory practices that added about 20-25% to our bill that they tried to pass off without any explanation until we asked. Frankly, it was money we would gladly spend had the charges been listed on the menu. Or, at the very least, would have adjusted our ordering.
Seems like they are banking on tourists not paying attention or perhaps people not wanting to look cheap on a not date.
Too bad it ended that way.
In response to the owner's comments:
1. Please see photo of your handheld device which gives me the option to pay cash and avoid the 4% credit card fee. 4% is exorbitant and no where near what it actually costs you to process a credit card I assure you.
2. Your menu is misleading and not accurate. It should say that if you choose to make your ice cream boozy and pay $3 extra, that it no longer includes Espresso (which makes no sense btw) unless you want to pay ANOTHER $3 each.
3. I tried to follow all the rules in your restaurant but there are so many and that are conflicting btwn the handheld, the poorly written menu, and the less than knowledgeable staff that it's difficult to know what the rules actually are.
4. As a business owner maybe you should spend some more time on site enforcing the rules and training your people to better handle these type of situations rather than be a keyboard warrior the next day. I assure you they would end differently and probably better in the end.
On vacation, don't feel like fighting. The character attacks aren't necessary. Had a bad experience at your place and feel like you tried to rip us off. Entitled to my opinion and perception of events. You seem pretty defensive so maybe time for some self reflection. Good luck.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

Response to your response Nick or Jacy:
1.) The photo you sent shows a non-cash and cash discount difference of $2.60. It also shows a DISCOUNT of $8.85. What was the reason for the discount we so graciously gave to you? You were given a discount almost 4 times larger than the cash discount yet you are still complaining. We choose not to take cash but our POS company cannot remove the message from the payment terminals so nothing we can do about it. However, as I stated before it is clearly stated at the bottom on both sides of our menu in large format and in red lettering that WE ARE CASHLESS along with the 4% card processing fee. Why did you not upload a pic of that? It's because it would debunk the entire basis of your complaint. The 4% is taken out by the processing company directly and we have absolutely zero interaction with this process, all 4% of it. Look up SkyTab by SHIFT4 for more information. Although it appears that you already know so much about our business so maybe you don't need to look it up but I suggest you do.
2.) The menu sates "BOOZY VERSION: A tastefully paired liquor pour over for an additional + $3 each (NO ESPRESSO)." Did you miss the part about no espresso? Did you think that a shot of liquor would only cost an additional $3? We allow customers to order their affogato traditionally with espresso, with no espresso and only BOOZY or with the espresso and the BOOZY option. You may be the 2nd or 3rd person out of tens of thousands that didn't get it. Think about that.
3.) This one is just silly and just you repeating yourself. Everything is clear and if you didn't understand something before you ordered it then that is on you. I'd hate to see you buy a car or sign a mortgage.
4.) As a business owner for almost 25 years I know there can be mistakes made and lessons learned. However with your situation there is only one thing to take away from this: You are a rude, obnoxious and nasty person. It is unfortunate that you weren't wearing your t-shirt that reads "I'm a jacka$$ and will not be happy with anything you do" when you entered our establishment.
Lastly, I am certainly not a keyboard warrior at all. Email me at info@dripaffogato.com and let me know when you can come over to meet face to face. Any date or time is good with me.
Not even close Jacy. The 4% (not 3%) processing fee is displayed in a large format at the bottom of both sides of the menu. You can also see this on the exact same menu shown on our website and social media. For safety reasons we do do not accept cash and have not for well over a year and this is shown next to the processing fee message. There is also an auto gratuity for parties of 5 or larger or any reservation of our secret room. Most places in New Orleans a s well as most high traffic cities charge an auto gratuity to all checks which we do not. No idea where your 20-25% calculation is coming from. Please upload a picture of your receipt and the menu to back up your claims as it would help your attempt to harm a business that you loved until you received your bill. We do not bank on tourists not paying attention to anything and actually prefer that they all read the menu thoroughly and listen to the servers when they explain the way things work at our establishment. We see that you also left a (copy and paste) 2 star review on Google. Why 2 and not 1 like on this platform, was it a typo? You were so rude to our helpful and lovely staff that you made one of them cry. Shame on you! You also left our restaurant not paying your full bill and in cash which we clearly do not accept. It is obvious you feel that you can make your own rules within a business that you chose to patron. That is not how it works and you will never be allowed back in our business.
