Depends on when you go but it wouldn't hurt. We walked in on a weekday at opening just fine.

Great food and service. Almost everything we ate was delicious. Oyster Rockefeller and shrimp poboy were top notch. Just wasn't a fan of the fried oysters. Cant wait to come back!

My family recently went on vacation to New Orleans and we tried many different restaurants throught the city but Gallier was by far the best. The food was amazing. We were served quickly. Our server, Kenneth, was very friendly and professional. We came back two more times throughout the week for both Kenneth and the food. It didn't hurt that it was walking distance from our resort.

Doesn't look like much but it was so amazing. Service was great, we got there a little earlier than the Saturday crowd and were seated immediately and our food came out quickly. We ordered multiple things off the menu and it did not disappoint. We went with children and it's a great place to take them as well.

Highly recommend the snapper, taste of New Orleans, the penne pasta and even the kids fried fish was excellent. Can't recommend this place enough and had great prices.

The fish was hard and overcooked. The fries were the only thing that tasted good.

Seating was fast. The menu is uncomplicated. The AC is not good in the main dining room at the entry. Try other places.

I tried the shrimp poboy with fries.
The shrimp were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. There was a great tasting drizzle of mayo sauce. There was too little though. It had great flavor with a very nice twang. Just wanted more of it. There was also some sliced tomatoes. They add a lot to the sandwich. If it was my sandwich I would make sure to leave out the end pieces of tomato. Romaine lettuce was added as well. There was some wilted edges though. Visually the sandwich is very appealing.
The roll or baguette was large but not day fresh. The poboy is a popular offering here per the yelp reviews. That's why I wanted to try it. Having a crusty baguette in replace of the roll would have made this a 5 star.
The restaurant is quaint and unassuming. The staff are warm and welcoming.

I came here by recommendation of a fellow conference goer. I was seated at the bar. Service was prompt and quick. I ordered a shrimp platter which came with a decent sized salad. Portions were good. Took home a chocolate mouse cake. Restaurant has a homey feel. It's not some fancy place but it's clean

Food is dynamite. Can't wait to come back.
Service was good and ambiance is your usual restaurant. Nothing unique about it.

We popped in to wait out the rain. There was a sign about no sharing plates on the front door and we typically like to get a few plates and split so we can try a little bit of everything. We ended up just getting a cup of Gumbo, I upgraded to include a side of potato salad, and a side of fries. Everything was just ok. We had to season up the Gumbo as it was kind of bland and the bread that came with it was sopping in butter. There weren't many kid options and the tables were packed too close together for comfort.

Always a great go-to spot for strong drinks, friendly bartenders and oysters.
I would recommend going during the day or early evening.

Came here with my coworkers after a long day of work conferencing. As an avid Yelper, I found this place on yelp when they told me it was my turn to pick a spot. I really wanted Cajun pasta and saw it on the menu.

For my travelers, this is another place with 1 check only per table with up to 4 cards. I am accustomed to this being from the DMV, but my coworkers from the Alabama were very much not used to that or gratuity being included. We were a group of 6. This included 5 coworkers and a husband. They ended up paying cash and the rest of us split the tab evenly on our corporate cards.

My coworker got the dozen of raw oysters. I had the Cajun Penne Pasta. It was good, but I struggled to find much chicken, lots of sausage though. It also lacked spice and I can say that as someone who only dabbles in spicy foods. I also had an old fashion.
