After purchasing a new car, I was eager to sell my old one as quickly as possible. After considering going the process of a private sale, I opted not to take any risks (too much time spent, and quite possibly spent with some shady characters), so I googled places to sell a car in the Bay Area and saw the rave reviews for Ion Cars and for Salem. I submitted an inquiry online late last Wednesday, was contacted via phone and email on Thursday morning. Salem arranged a time to meet my husband at our house on Friday morning while I was traveling for work, and within a few hours had made a deal! Salem was very fair, coming in close to the Kelley Blue Book value (within $100, and to be fair, my old car had a few things that needing fixing before a resale could take place), and his offer was TWICE that of Putnam Mazda for a trade-in. By Saturday afternoon we had the car dropped off at Ion Cars and the check was deposited in our bank account the same day. Salem is honest, friendly, and when we decide to upgrade our second car, we will certainly be selling our old one to him again. Salem runs a great business and provides a stellar client experience. This review has been a long time coming. What can I say that everyone hasn't said already? Salem is the antithesis of your typical cars salesman. He is honest and has a ton of integrity. He truly wants to do what's best for you (the customer), going above and beyond all the time.

I first encountered Salem when Ion cars about 7 years ago when it was located in San Francisco. I wanted to see if he would purchase my Volkswagon Passat. He offered a price (a fair one and more than I could get on a trade in), but also said I would probably end up getting a better price selling it privately. I did end up going that route but didn't forget Salem. I really appreciated his straight talk and service to the customer.

A few years back, I did sell him a Honda CRV. I came to the dealership with a number in mind. He offered me a bit more than anticipated, and I took the offer on the spot. He ensured everything with the car and we had a deal.

Last year, I approached Salem about trying to find a Prius C at a certain price point, year, and mileage. He checked out various sites over the next month or so until he found something that met the criteria. He gave me a call and let me know the total cost before preceding. I gave him the green light to get the car. A few weeks later the car was ready for pick up, as described (looking new).

Time and time again Salem has been there for me, and I wouldn't go to anyone else with car needs or questions. I hope this review just reinforces what previous people have said. Thanks, Salem!

Salem is the very best. He is not only handsome, but very nice and pleasant. I appreciate his honesty. Very happy to hear his compliment on my car, since I loved driving my BMW. He is responsive and fair. The whole process took about 30 min. It's sad to bid goodbye to my car, but i know that it's in good hands now. Thumbs up and up!
