I stumbled across this jewel while I was in the NO for business and I read a few reviews and decided to give it a try. All I can tell you is the food is everything plus more. I have an affinity for Jamaican cuisine and this is it. GREAT experience and SUPER GREAT food.
I purchased two plates. One jerk chicken and curry chicken.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lauren N.Venice, CA1471121Aug 21, 2023
I pit-stopped at Johnny's truck this weekend off St. Claude and holy heck it didn't disappoint! For $20 I got a heaping plate of food that took me the next two days to finish. The seafood was fresh, the seasoning was divine. A New Orleans must!

Just left this place. I can't comment about the food because the guy in the truck had such an attitude I refused to spend my money there. I asked for plaintain... don't have it. Okay, tried to order the red snapper because I saw a good review. The menu says it can be fixed 3 different ways, fried, curry or jerk. I asked for fried... don't have it. Why is it on the menu? By this time, I didn't like his attitude. He was rude, short-tempered, and unpleasant. Nope! Not spending my money there.

This is the BEST Jerk Chicken I have had here in the city of New Orleans thus far!!! It's serve from a food truck. The worker was polite and efficient. We did not have to wait long for food. I enjoyed it so much I returned the next day for another plate.

My partner and I stopped at this food truck on our way home. I ordered the Jerk Chicken plate, which included vegetables, rice and beans, plantains, and jerk chicken. We were in line no longer than 10 minutes; the food was served fresh and quick. The vegetables and plantains were our favorite. The rest of the food was decent. Nonetheless, great service.
COVID: There weren't any gloves or masks worn.
Sustainability: The food was served in a styrofoam plate, and there were lots of napkins and plastic.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 5, 2021
The BEST Jamaican Jerk I've personally had and would argue the best in the city. The plantains were super ripe and chicken was excellently seasoned I personally just like more sauce which they gave me. I chose to opt out of the greens though.

Just ok I had the jerk chicken plate. He ran out of fried plantains. And claimed he gave me extra chicken. He did not give me extra chicken and the plate was $18. It wasn't bad but I would never pay that much again for some ok food. I wouldn't go back.

Unfortunately there was only a limited amount of items from the menu. The hospitality was terrible. The food was good though. I would most likely not come back though.
