Last Call Bar

Overall - One of the best bars in the city, and probably the best in the Castro. Inviting team and stellar cocktails make this spot on our regular rotation.

Ambiance - divey but charming. Since I first started coming here, they've slowly been adding small touches to make the space more inviting and it shows. Not a huge complaint, not worth dinging, but it does get very busy in here sometimes and it's not the most suited place for that. Could really use a second bartender for the busiest times. Again, though, not huge.

Service - this is where this bar shines and, I'd argue, what makes this spot so popular. All the bartenders are unique experiences and any single one of them would make this bar worth coming to. Every tender has their own menu with their own unique cocktails, I can't tell you how wonderful this is. This plus their personalities almost make this place a different bar every time they switch shifts. Special shout out to Jonathan, but everyone else is incredibly lovely.

Drinks - pretty standard choose your own adventure cocktail bar with some signatures based on the bartender. They do put a lot of love and time into their concoctions and it very much shows.

- Ordering tips: if it's busy, recommend being patient, the drinks are worth it! Also, the crew has a very good memory, so order all of your party's drinks at once (and it seems they prefer this, correct me if I'm wrong) and sort out the tabs after the bill is paid.

I guess it would be more appropriate for me to call this spot the First Last Call Bar since believe it or not, I had never been here before a recent atmospheric river forced me physically to seek shelter. And I do mean 'physically' because I was like Winnie the Pooh on that blustery day looking for my honey pot. It was early on a weekday, like 3:30PM, when I entered the portal.

There was just a couple of guys at the far end of the long bar and the friendly bartender keeping himself busy. The TV was playing one of the Star Wars movies from the pre-Luke, Natalie Portman trilogy. I never saw that trio so I couldn't tell you why Natalie was looking like a pissed-off prom queen. I decided to try one of their specials, the $13 Spicy Passion Fruit Margarita (photo: https://bit.ly/3K1bYFE).

It provided a nice, unseasonably warm kick. No arms were twisted on my second drink, the $8 Makers Mark & Ginger (photo: https://bit.ly/3KwZrvi). I was ready to face the inclement weather. Liked my experience so much I came back a couple of weeks later. This time, the TV was playing the pre-coital samurai scene from "The Bodyguard". That was more like it. A very chill place at 4PM.

AMBIANCE - 5 stars...heavy mellow during an atmospheric river in a compact atmospheric space

First timer. Awesome little spot ! Juke box with the classsssics fantastic drinks in the heart of the Castro.

Wow. Popped into our favorite Castro bar last night to be met by rude & apathetic bartenders. Who made that business decision? These women ruined all the joy. At least be polite...

Nice bar! Pretty small so might be hard to grab a seat if it's busy. There is seating at the bar and at the window near the entrance.

Drinks were good. Loved the plant wall by the bar. Vibe was very chill and male dominant. Bartender was nice, last call was around 1:35AM.

The little picture in the hole of the bathroom door scared the life out of me and then had me laughing

Cute neighborhood bar. Perfect to get a drink after work with friends or turn up later there later. The bartender was friendly and cute.

Fun, cute bar! We stopped by for a cocktail on a Friday afternoon in April with a group of about 10. Great service!

Jonathan was a great bartender and we loved his fu babies he bought with them to work.
Highly recommend as a place to stop.

Love this bar! The staff members are super friendly, are super dog-friendly (YAY!), and the drinks are tasty. I also really like the patrons. People start up friendly convos easily here.

I love that they also have a fireplace in the back which is (perf for foggy, cold days) and they offer bar snacks to munch on.

It feels cozy and comfortable to catch up with friends or make it a party. Def a place to stop in for a friendly neighborhood drink- or three.

bartender with the fendi belt is mean. Tipped him well and he was very rude for no valid reason. look in the mirror and try to love yourself ok? don't take your moon cycles out on me freddie mercury. ugh . never forget.
