Little Sparrow Salon & Barber

This review is for Audra, who I just got an amazing haircut from. I found her work on Instagram and reached out and she helped me settle on an idea for the cut.

Once I came in and met her, she worked with me to find the right style and was super easy to talk to throughout, to make sure I liked it.

I never leave reviews on yelp, but had to make an exception. Audra is awesome at what she does and it's a super fair price too!

I had a weird and uncomfortable experience at this salon that left me in tears due to an interaction with one stylist in particular. Megan was unwilling to cut my hair.

I arrived 5 minutes late, after driving 55 min from out of town. We were a little late, because my toddler had an unexpected accident in the car. When I walked in, I politely asked Megan to quickly use their restroom. This took a little more time, and I sat down in her chair at 11 minutes late.

I was then reprimanded for my tardiness (no sympathy for a mom with a little kiddo) and criticized for asking her if there was a parking lot on my drive over. I think asking your stylist the parking situation at their salon before arriving at a new salon is an understandable question?

Then, even though I had booked a haircut and mentioned I might get a gloss or roots in addition, but was specifically looking for a haircut, Megan told me she didn't cut hair with texture like, and "didn't I read her website and peruse her Instagram?" I glanced at it, but didn't peruse these things. She told me she couldn't cut my hair.

Another stylist said she had an opening in 3 hours, very kindly, but that wasn't going to work out for us.

The whole experience honestly left me walking out of the salon in tears. Maybe she was having a bad day? It was all extremely unexpected and disappointing. I've never felt rejected for my hair texture before and so insensitively treated.

Very cute little salon in NoPa! Andrea cut my hair and she was awesome. She listened to what I had in mind and also gave me suggestions. She also gave me some hair care tips. Highly recommend!

The salon itself has a nice waiting area with a comfortable couch and drinks in a little cooler (some sparkling water and even bud light haha). It has a really nice chill vibe overall!

Thanks for telling me you have to use the extra time for my thick hair and you cannot do the whole thing in 1 hour for haircut time after I showed up at the appointment.

It is important to communicate what you can and cannot do so I appreciate this.

Luckily I find a place in San Bruno that can do the exact hairstyle I need in 45 minutes and less expensive than here. They charge 45 dollars whereas here is 130 from Judea the lady that works in little Sparrow.

The place in San Bruno is called De Design Beauty Salon. Ask for Michael! -- Just putting it out there for anyone who appreciate efficiency and does a great job.

Tracy did her absolute best to save my hair that someone else turned ORANGE just 2 days before my wedding. The salon is relaxing and has great vibes, the price was incredible, and as anyone who has needed color correction in a pinch knows, you cannot say enough good things about the heroes who come through like this.

I've been going to Judea for about six months now and after searching for two years I've found my stylist. She has a fantastic energy and is very easy to talk to. I've gone back and forth with trying to figure out length and style of my cut with her help. Her salon is extremely clean, with music playing and just overall good energy. On the sunny days in San Francisco the salon radiates. I couldn't recommend Judea or her salon enough.

Judea cut my hair and did an amazing job! Very nice vibe and they have drinks which is a nice bonus.

Really enjoyed my haircut here! Judea gave me an amazing trim and layers, styled it perfectly, and was really fun to chat with. It's a super sweet space, too-- love the whole vibe. Definitely recommend!

Can always catch a phenomenal fade here with Audra. It's routine to visit this spot and I'll stay true to a stylist that can cut short hair well and is also willing to do something different. The fades are solid: high, low, & mid. The lines are super clean. The styles can be pretty much anything you're looking for, they'll even kindly tell me when I pick a thing that maybe won't grow out well or doesn't fit my head shape.

Also, if you've got a kid who's a bit of an introvert and doesn't love a hair cut... the vibe in the shop and with Audra is chill and calming. Give it a shot, might make your life a bit easier every few months.

Also, I have seen the other stylists do amazing work with their clients in both their hair and their style needs, but haven't personally had my hair cut by them.

Judea is super talented and an absolute joy to hang out with while you get your hair done. Her schedule is flexible, she listens to what you want and gives you exactly that. You won't regret making her your next stylist.
