Great food! My mother in law, God bless her soul and her sister worked there. Having gone back on occasion it's still has the best food choices, fast service and the ambiance is memorable and wanting you to return.
We need one in the Eastside.
Like I said before my family members many, many years. Back in the 1970's when the only best restaurants were DOWNTOWN.
THEY STILL ARE!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T N.Dublin, CA010181Jun 14, 2024
I had the steak & shrimp with a small bowl of gumbo. Steak wax tender will very little fat and cooked perfectly. The fried shrimp was big and had just enough batter on it. The gumbo was tasty but could have used a little more spices.
The staff was attentive and came by just at the right time to refill the drinks. The place had very nice ambiance to it. Overall was a pleasant experience. I would definitely come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Amira G.Northwest El Paso, El Paso, TX061Jul 26, 2024
If I could give this place 100 stars I would! Everything was fantastic. Our server Avery was the best. He was so friendly and attentive and gave detailed descriptions of each item we asked about and gave us amazing recommendations! Everything we tried was a 10/10. The food is so fresh and tasty and the chef even came up to us to see how we liked everything. The dessert was out of this world!! Definitely recommend trying this place out, super family friendly environment!

What a pleasant surprise my first question is who gave this place less than five stars? On my travel back from California I found this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful my dining experience was. Everything was perfect. The service was top-notch, and all the food was amazing. Do not pass this place the service was impeccable, it's downtown tucked away and there's plenty of parking so do yourself a favor and get your bowl of gumbo

Some good friends invited us to have oysters here. We must have had a few dozen raw oysters. We spent the afternoon enjoying the oysters and music. The oysters were fresh and delicious! The service was fantastic!

Dropped in on Mac's & enjoyed a Sunday lunch with the fam.
The ambiance in the place is always great. With the random grouping of pictures, artwork, memorabilia, etc throughout. Don't forgot the piano on the stage (girls were allowed to go up & play a tune)!
Started off with the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Really creamy, perfectly cooked pasta tubes & lots of meaty lobster pieces! (4 stars) I had a cup of the Clam Chowder which was really good - lots of potatoes! (5 stars) The girls split the Etoufee with fried chicken instead of the shrimp since they didn't want seafood. (4 stars) We had one order of the Shrimp Tacos which were okay but maybe a little too much coleslaw which caused the tortillas to fall apart. (3 stars) We also had a Fried Combo which consisted of Shrimp, Cod & Chicken Breast hand breaded, served with homemade Fries - our favorite of the orders. (5 stars) The last order we had was the Po Boy Cod Sandwich - the fries on the side were great. (4 stars)
The service was very personable and top notch - our favorite part of the visit! (5 stars)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Valeria G.El Paso, TX012Apr 22, 2024
Went in for Shrimp boil and we ended up ordering a little bit of everything! Everything we ordered was delicious! A lot of spots aren't open on Mondays so it's nice to have a great meal downtown!

This is a great spot for a casual meal. I enjoyed the Red Beans and Rice, it was delicious. Full of sausage, onion, gravy and of course beans and rice. The staff was nice and on a Wednesday evening the restaurant was not busy.

GET THE FRIED OYSTERS!!! YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!
Some other things we got were grilled cod sandwich (buns were delicious) and the Jambalaya (shoots with favor)! Service is pristine as well as the ambiance which gives NY Brooklyn vibes!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dexter K.SoMa, San Francisco, CA02May 25, 2024
