      Is it Dog friendly?

      A:

Nope. There isn't an outdoor space and the restaurant sits right on Bourbon Street. Besides, it is really noisy.

This is a kinda sports bar vibe but more relaxed. The food was amazing, great Louisiana seasoning and deep fried seafood and fish perfectly cooked. Definitely hit the spot! Service was quick, we were sit right away, everything came up quick and prices were super reasonable.

Got an appetite after walking the French quarters.

We had Naquika as our server and hands down the BEST service. She recommended some items we tried and we were extremely happy with them.

We had blackened alligator bites and fries (best fries ever). We also tried redfish Martí Gras special and it was devine. We also tried the Mambos famous oysters.

Best experience in the French Quarter. So excited to be here visiting NOLA and to have come across this little piece of heaven at nearly midnight!

Also checked in and got a free bread pudding that tasted amazing.

Service was absolutely great! The waitstaff was very friendly, food came out fast, and the wait staff gave us excellent recommendations!

The food was really good. The étouffée was the star of the show but the red beans and gumbo were solid! It's hard to mess up a po boy but they fried the shrimp perfectly! Not surprisingly; drinks were on point.

I'd definitely recommend Mambo's if you're on Bourbon street!

      Food:
I ordered blacked red fish and gumbo. The fish was dried the sides of collar greens was chewy. Gumbo was good which saved the review to a 3 star
      Service:
Bad, came there and took them a while to get my orde
      Ambiance:
Went there for lunch so not many people only worker standing around talking to each other instead of serving.

I am not stingy with my 5 star ratings. If you're good, you're good. I have to say, I REALLY wanted to give Mambo's a 5 star rating...but I couldn't. The food? 10 stars. My partner and I shared the crawfish poutine and the redfish dinner. I could, quite literally, taste NOLA in every bite. It was SO good!

The service? 4 stars. We got no silverware, had to ask the server to take our order, did not get checked on (so I didn't order another drink--you're problem, server!), and had to have our bill fixed. What a mess.

The ambiance? It was incredible! It's right on bourbon street, so you could hear and see everything. We loved the action and the life that was teeming from the street. 10 stars.

      See? That service. Ugh.

All that to say, if you aren't in a rush, I'd go here. ;)

      Crawfish poutine. GET IT!!!
Blackened Redfish with greens and mashed potatoes. If you love yourself, order this.

This was the worst food I've had in NOLA. Let me add that this is my fifth or sixth times in NOLA so I'm well versed in the it spots. I wanted to try something else less well known and gave mambo a try. Instant regret. The chargrilled oysters didn't have any flavor and was drown in sauce. The Rockefeller was like a spinach dip on your oysters, don't recommend that. I didn't taste any char on the oysters and that's the best part. No Parmesan and no butter on the oysters, came with two slider bread and just no, I need baguette french bread. I also ordered blackened gator tail bites. It was not blackened and it tasted more like fish fillet than gators. I've had gator before.

Worst of all was the waitress, she took my appetizer order and never came back to check on me or to take my entree order. I had to flag down other waiters to order entree and check out. I hope the tip goes to the other two waiters and not hers, they did her job for her

This was our very first meal we had on arrival into New Orleans. We happened to walk in off the bustle of Bourbon street and were immediately told to wait in the line outside. Whoops! We waited for about 10-15 minutes before another host came out and asked us if we were waiting for the patio seating upstairs and we said no, we just wanted any table. He said, "Well come on in! You don't have to wait in that line, that's for the balcony seating!"

Cool, cool, cool. That other guy definitely did not tell us that. No biggie.

Once seated our service was quick and professional. The food was ok. Definitely not the best we had our entire visit, but enough to whet our cajun palate and prepare for the week to come.

I probably wouldn't seek this place out again, but I definitely would not be opposed to ending up here again either. It gets the job done and it's right in the middle of all the action. And sometimes, that's all you need!

Our last day in town, we walked passed and liked the menu so we stopped in for lunch with no wait in line Sunday around 12:15.

Service was good, but food was slow as it took quite some time. Average Creole and Cajun seasoning on the food. Everything tasted sort of on the bland side.

The oysters we're the best thing going and the Cesar salad + dressing were great. They also had a decent kid's menu.
