OMG! This was the best breakfast/brunch place ever!!!! We met some friends here for brunch and had to wait in a long line. It was soooo worth the wait. The service is fast and friendly, the food is unique enough to make me want to come back several times to try everything, and it was delicious!!!
Our friends order the friend chicken sandwich and the egg sandwich, and they liked it a lot. The iced coffees were good and strong too.
I had to order several things to try, so we had the Carrot yogurt and granola, the fancy hash brown with caviar, the biscuits and gravy, and the collard greens and grits with a poached egg and scallions (by far the best thing I've had here yet). That collard green dish was savory, spicy, creamy, decadent deliciousness that I was not expecting. And that carrot yogurt and house made granola? Holy crap! They were the two most unusual items on the menu, so we had to try them. I wish I could come here every day for brunch!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 18, 2024
This place feels like going to your cool uncle's house for breakfast. Even with the service it felt like family was serving you- not over the top kindness, not apathetic- just right.
A historic looking building outside with an eclectic, retro inside where you can see the kitchen from your seat.
We both had the fried chicken biscuit. First note, I'd most likely eat anything on their biscuits- KAPOW, they are so good. The chicken was juicy dark meat fried in a spicy, crunchy batter (about Cholula level of heat). Honey butter rounded out the heat and added a little sweet. Make sure to check the pic of the honey butter mayo waterfall! Scrumptious! Very, very filling too.

An eclectic restaurant. There was ample seating outdoors and inside. It is very casual and you are seated after you place your order.
The hot chicken sandwich is savory, sweet and spicy and is made using dark meat (juicy!!!!). The spice was a little bit over powering but overall delicious. The biscuit was perfection.
The restaurant offers for customers to PAY IT FORWARD for $8. Proceeds go towards food for the BLC Community every Monday.
This restaurant is quite popular so I'd get there early if you can. There's only street parking.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1067696Jun 23, 20241 check-in
This eclectic, 80s themed café is just the type of unique experience I was looking for on a Sunday morning in New Orleans.
Removed from the tourism pit that is the French Quarter, Molly's Rise and Shine brings its own spin on delicious brunch fare and has created a millennial hipster haven within its walls, displaying countless nostalgic 80s toys and lining its walls with memorabilia. I think it would be fun to bring kids here, to gaze at the toys and reminisce.
We ordered our food and coffee at the walk-up counter and easily found a table for two. We chose to ignore the breakfast sandwiches on the menu-- though they did look amazing when we saw them being delivered to other tables-- and ordered the Grits N Greens and the Crispy Rice Salad.
Both dishes were very delicious and full of flavor. My crispy rice salad was the most unique brunch dish I've ever tried.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 5, 2024
Idk what time Molly Rises and Shines, but judging by the great music, it's not early cuz she's up all night at the club.
Food was incredible. Chicken biscuit sandwich was so juicy. The fried breading was so crisp, and had perfect amount of spice that will wake you up after a long night out.
Biscuit was flaky and soft too.
Restaurant located in a cute neighborhood and the nostalgic 80's-90's toys made the inside vibe pretty fun.
Definitely worth stopping by.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Danielle T.New Orleans, LA1023931Aug 5, 2024
I was very excited to taste the biscuits and gravy here, I ordered some on Postmates today and at first taste the gravy was very good, however the biscuit was more like a crouton, it was so hard and dry, I could hardly cut it with a knife. Had the gravy been on a fresh biscuit my review would be completely different. It's clear they decided to either use a several days old biscuit, microwave it for way too long, or both. Biscuits are cheap to make, why they would use an old one just doesn't make sense. $20 for a stale biscuit and gravy and a side hash brown (comparable to a McDonald's hash brown) is not worth it.

This is what a menu should look like! Concise, creative, and inspired. Everything sounded appetizing, but I went with the crispy rice, while my husband chose the McMuffin. Portions and taste were perfect. I had the celery lemon soda they make in-house, which was awesome. I highly recommend - it is tangy, celery-y, zesty, and not sweet at all. So good!
The vibe of the place is fun and playful. Incredibly casual. The interior is inviting and friendly, but the spaces outside are just as nice, given you get to look out onto the streets in the best area of New Orleans (the garden district).
Make sure to find street parking, which usually isn't a problem. It's popular, though! We started at the back of line right out the door on a busy Saturday morning, but got our order in and food delivered in a really timely manner. I was quite impressed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Feb 25, 2024
I was in New Orleans for three and a half days and went to Molly's twice. They were closed on the day that we had wanted to go there a third time.
Over the course of those two visits, I had two of their iconic fried chicken biscuit sandwiches, more than my fair share of collard greens, one skeptical spoonful of the roasted carrot yogurt (three words that I thought I'd never see in combination with each other on a menu), half a bowl of the roasted carrot yogurt after admitting that I had no reason to be hesitant in the first place, half of a Pop-Tart that you can only order on Saturdays, one drip coffee that was nothing special but got the job done, one glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and one visit to the bathroom simply to check out their quirky wallpaper.
Molly's is meant to be a trip down memory lane: the decor says it all. Everywhere you look, there are toys and posters meant to evoke memories of yesteryear, whether you remember them from your own '80s and '90s childhoods or simply pop culture.
This place is where retro nostalgia meets good ol' Southern eats. You can't go wrong with the fried chicken biscuit sandwich -- when in New Orleans, right? When they say "biscuit," they mean it: fluffy and fresh goodness. The collard greens and roasted carrot yogurt stole the show though. I'd never had collard greens that were that sweet before, but the flavor profile still manages to work. In fact, I'd happily polish off a bowl of collard greens at every single meal if I could make 'em like Molly's does. (And you can, because they sell a cookbook with that recipe in it.)
Don't be scared by the line. It moves faster than you think. And while this breakfast joint is at the top of restaurants that you have to visit while you're in New Orleans, I was surprised that there wasn't a wait for a table. At all. It's also on Magazine Street, so you can go window shopping after brunch.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0 - May 31, 20241 check-in
BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH IVE HAD IN MY LIFE! Something about the seasoning of the chicken was like never before. I wish they sold chicken pieces alone. They homemade gravy and biscuits too was amazing. Everything was delicious even the fresh squeezed orange juice. This is a place we will definitely come back to. The DJ playlist was great and the vibe was nostalgic.
