Q:
Where is the best place to park?
A:
At home and take an Uber. You can of course drive around and find meter parking ($6.35 for two hours - after 7 and on Sunday's it's free). You can find neighborhood parking but it's limited to 2 hours. You can park in a parking lot which can be… more

We came to Muriel's as a party of two at 4:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon. They did not open the restaurant until 5:00 so we got to enjoy their bar while we waited. I had their Mystic Margarita to start. This is a great cocktail for spice lovers. The jalapeño was perfect. This cocktail was refreshing with a nice kick to it, and it helped me beat the heat.
Once the dining room was free, we were seated and enjoyed several things!
I loved their Honey Child cocktail-the honeysuckle infused vodka glowed through this cocktail. It tasted like a gentle citrus summer.
We shared their bayoubaisse and their seafood gumbo. Both were savory and good. For dessert, we ordered a key lime martini which made us pucker in a good way. Their bread pudding is wonderful-and it has no raisins! Very important for those searching for a quality bread pudding. Their chocolate pecan tart is a sweet and rich delight.
Muriel's checked all of our boxes for our cravings-sweets, seafood and alcohol. This was a pleasure and I recommend to everyone!
Their key lime martini is sweet and the right amount of sour. Regardless of the cocktail, the quality of their drinks is truly outstanding.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 80786100Aug 5, 20241 check-in
We decided to do a weekend brunch at Muriel's, and our experience was entirely positive. For a Saturday morning it was surprisingly not busy, but that meant that we got a spectacular window seat overlooking the street and the corner of Jackson's Square.
Service was impeccable. A solid 5 stars here. Our waiter, Joey, was perfect, and if every restaurant could find a Joey they'd be in good hands.
I had the three course lunch brunch, which included a bowl of gumbo to start, a sausage omelette with potatoes for the main course, and a chocolate tart for dessert. The preparation and presentation was solid, but I'd like for the kitchen to have taken a few more chances here--a little something to give a solid dish some memorable sparkle. I'm confidant that this kitchen is capable of taking things to the next level.
But this was still a very solid meal, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my out-of-town guests here for an example of what New Orleans is capable of.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 22, 2024
This was my second visit to New Orleans, and this meal ranks among the best I've had in the city. The ambiance and service were exceptional, and the three-course meal was definitely worth the price.
For the appetizer, the turtle soup offered a complex and satisfying flavor profile. The shrimp and grits entrée was rich and truly showcased the essence of New Orleans cuisine. Muriel's provides an overall outstanding dining experience - I will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 453637Aug 4, 2024
Went here for dinner. We did the 3 course menu and really I feel it is a deal. I had the half roast chicken, my husband the pork chop. The house salad was delicious. The chicken was very good and seasoned well (even a little spicy). The desserts were also very good. I had the crème brûlée and my husband had the pecan tart. It was fun walking around the upstairs as well.

Came here because I craved the crepes and that's what I did lol it was the most savory dish for an appetizer. It was creamy and smooth from the goat cheese and crepes were soft and light topped with this amazingly rich Chardonnay sauce
We also ordered the All Shook Up- a dessert cocktail. If you love peanut butter as a drink, you'll love it.
The service was great! Kendall was friendly and was aware of our needs!
We were sat in the corner of the restaurant with a massive window and loved it because we felt intimate with our lunch and the music was loud enough without yelling during a conversation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 11, 20241 check-in
For me, the best dinner we had in Nola.
They have a 3 course dinner for $49.50/person. That's the best value and every choice is a winner. You select a starter, an entree and a dessert.
Our party of 5 started with 2 wedge salads, and three of us had the shrimp and goat cheese crepes which were served with an absolutely delicious sauce. I liked my wedge, but the goat cheese crepe was AH-MAZING!
For entrees, 3 of us had shrimp and grits and 2 had the seasoned drum fish. I got to taste all entree options and there was no bad choice, but I was totally content with my drum fish and the tasty crusted topping.
For dessert, we all shared, bread pudding, chocolate tart, and creme brûlée, the bread pudding was my favorite, but all the dessert options were delicious.
We also tried 3 scratch drinks: fleur de lis, honey child and the vampire's kiss, again 3 winners. Muriel's hit on everything, including great service.Helpful 10Thanks 3Love this 10Oh no 0 - May 26, 2024
10 out of 10, would eat here every day for life. Visiting New Orleans for a conference and was given the task of picking an iconic restaurant with the full flavor of the city. And this place is it.
The food was so amazing that I forgot to take pictures because I was only focused on digging in. The two dishes that I did photo, you can see, were as lovely to consume with my eyes as they were to devour. I got the Table de Hote menu (pre fixe) and trust me, you will walk out full and satisfied.
Open Table would only allow us to make reservations of four, so we made four reservations to accommodate sixteen. However, when we showed up the manager realized what was happening and set up two large tables together. Amazing customer service.
The place also has an iconic feel. Located immediately adjacent from Jackson Square, the outside views are commanding if you desire outdoor seating. You'll have to walk by the haunted table to get there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 115178Jul 1, 2024
I ordered the duck and a salad. The salads are amazing, and the food comes in such large portions! They also had such great service. They gave us an extra dessert to share on the house! I also love that they have a second floor that you can explore after your meal. We went up to the lounge where the ghost of the restaurant's past owner resides to take photos. There's also a nice terrance/balcony on the second floor too!

This is a famous historic restaurant located right in the French quarter. Recommend by many locals MJ Square did not disappoint. The ambience is dark and intimate. They have a bunch of art on the walls and feature high ceilings. The ventilation and AC here are great as I saw a brunch of mini AC machines every where. Some folks in my party opted for the pre fix menu. The highlights include the complimentary focaccia bread, shrimp and grits, pork chops, and duck. The meats were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp and grits dish is one of the best I've ever tasted. Grits were just so rich and tasty. Service here was on point. We had 1 that focused on our drinks and another 1 for our food. Our plates were constantly being cleaned and drinks always being refilled. If you're visiting NOLA highly recommend coming here.
