Oakland Rooter & Plumbing

Got to hand it to Odi and Oakland Rooter, about the best plumber and plumbing company I've ever dealt with. They did a great job on the plumbing in our shower stall.

Backstory: Tile in our shower stall was falling off the walls. Tile contractor came over and took off all the tile and backboard, etc., only to reveal a whole lot of rotted wood and some ancient plumbing. This is about the plumbing.

First, we had one of those large plumbing companies come over to give us a bid. At least they showed up! They had automatic email and text reminders, a uniformed plumber with an iPad, a big blue plumbing van with all the fixin's ... and (after a lot of work on the iPad) a gigantic price tag to go with it all.

Then Odi from Oakland Rooter shows up. No iPad, just a whole lot of expertise. Takes a few minutes to come up with a price that's a fraction of Fancy Plumber's.

To summarize, Odi did an excellent and clean job on the pipes and valves (the carpenter who showed up later made that assessment), and offered to come back to deal with any issues, including installing the fixtures once the tiler was done.

And throughout, he responded promptly any time we communicated with him. Can't ask for more.

The issue resolved quickly and repaired another issue from the previous plumber. I will be using them in the near future for other repairs.

Needed a verification for our insurance company regarding the type of plumbing we had. Ygnacio called within 10 minutes of my inquiry. We set up an inspection for the following week. Odi arrived on time and was incredibly cheerful. He checked all of our plumbing and wrote a verification statement for the insurance company. The nice part was hearing that our plumbing was in good condition throughout!

We will definitely call Oakland Rooter & Plumbing for our future plumbing needs!

I got shaken down for more than the requested $99 drain unclogging special but was able to negotiate a fee lower than the one quoted to me when the service person first looked at the job.

From there, everything went well. The drain was unclogged, cleanup was quick and thorough, and I'll have them back the next time something comes up.

We had a sink that would not drain, even after a home snaking, etc.

My partner and I both thought the other had called a plumber. I went with Oakland Rooter because they were highly rated and could come out on a weekend.

They were great about communicating when they'd come. Clear, professional, polite. And they came when they said they would. I had to run an errand, but my partner said José was very helpful and informative, showing us how to better handle the problem next time it comes up.

Worked with Oakland Rooter after seeing other good reviews. A plumber came out, we had purchased the plumbing fixtures already, they just had to install them. The plumber looked at our fixtures which were Hansgrohe, and he said we needed their specialist in those fixtures. No charge for the initial visit, and then the 2nd plumber who specialized in German plumbing fixtures came the next day.

This person came out and installed everything. We had some other fixtures we were going to wait on installing, and the supervisor offered to install them at no additional charge. Then we had a kitchen faucet that was leaking and they investigated and found it was leaking water under the sink into the cabinet. They diagnosed the faucet and said it was a leaking hose to the pull-out hand spray. Everything works great now!

we needed to cut and cap a pipe coming out of the kitchen floor from crawlspace. Jose Sanchez visited and gave us a reasonable price and did the job in the same day. the job was challenging because of lack of enough space in the crawlspace. he did a great job. great attitude.

I needed to have pipes replaced , so I called Oakland Rooter and Plumbing. Alberto came on a Friday to assess the situation and started work the next day with technicians Daniel and Juan. They completed the job by the end of the day. Their work was thorough and complied with the city's code. The price for the work was extremely fair. They left my property clean and secure. I highly recommend Oakland Rooter and Plumbing for your plumbing needs.

Had issues with drain in laundry room and they were responsive. Though it was not fixable due to original construction they never charged me even after 6 hours of working the issue. Can't say enough about Jose Moreno and Samuel, professional through and through.

My church's urinal was flooded so bad we needed immediate help. They came to the church less an hour after we called fixed the problem right away.

The shower drain was getting slower and slower. Somebody who will remain anonymous (shh it was me) didn't use the little hair catcher and the shower drain finally said, "that's it!" and stopped draining. That is when I called my favorite plumbing company, Oakland Rooter and Plumbing. I called at 7, someone answered and sent me Jose Flores. I was so happy. First he assessed the problem, determined that the shower drain was the problem - not the toilet or sink (yay!). He quoted me a price and I was able to get the $99 Drain Special on their Yelp page. Then he goes in and 20-30 minutes later, he comes out and says the job is done! He was able to take a credit card payment and we shook hands and off he went to his next desperate home owner! Jose was so wonderful. He wore those little booties over his shoes to protect my floors and carpets. He was neat and tidy and showed me the very repentant clump of hair before it was exiled to the garbage can.
