This is one of my favorite Austin restaurants. They're farm to table and switch out the menu seasonally. Generally great service and great drinks. There's always a wait here.

      Food:
      Head on shrimp - delicious
      Ceviche - good
      Burger - delicious
      Crawfish ravioli - very good

The business may have been around since 2009 (started as a food truck), but after all these years of visiting Austin, I never had a meal there.

That finally changed and I'm glad it did.

The ambiance was great, the façade is now overgrown with plant life, almost obscuring the sign. Inside the vibes were chill, unpretentious, and open.

Service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our server gave us a quick rundown complete with recommendations and a game plan on how many plates to order. Odd Duck's menu specializes in plates to share.

      Our favorites:

Cast iron cheddar cornbread, smoked tomato butter: Never had tomato butter before, it paired wonderfully with the cornbread.

Aged wagyu burger: A succulent piece of beef it was topped with a piece of fried beer cheese which had a very unique texture and almost mistaken it as a friend vegetable.

Braised goat pizza: A true goat-themed dish complete with goat cheese and oaxaca pulled goat.

Blackened redfish: The exterior was well crisped and seasoned leaving the interior fish nice and delicate.

A great dinner finished with a solid Peach cobbler: we all walked out very happy and satisfied.

A cool eclectic vibe that does high end dining with a laid back feel. Me and my fiancee went during their happy hour that does 25% off food which was nice. We started with drinks- I had the "Spill The Chai" and it was awesome. Bourbon infused with chai however it's fully translucent so not milky at all but with a hint of milk/chai flavors.

We were told 4 plates is enough for two people so we ordered two apps, the ceviche and Shrimp. The ceviche was very fresh and the sauce and chips mixed together was amazing 4.5/5. The shrimp was a little overpowering with a smokey grilled taste and just wasn't what I was expecting 3.3/5. Then for the main course we shared the Quail and Wagu Steak. The quail was great and the sauce was Cajun style and the inside of the quail was filled with this delicious Cajun rice 4.3/5.

Last was the steak and it was a bit underwhelming. The light gravy and fried potato balls were absolutely perfect 5/5. If that was the only thing on the plate I'd be content! However, the steak itself was really chewy, and was surprisingly hard to cut. Maybe it was the cut of wagyu but when I think of wagyu I think buttery melty steak. It just didn't hit the mark on the actual meat part of the dish 3/5.

Fun experience and a place I'd consider going back for happy hour and maybe just sticking to the items I really liked.

Fine dining flavors in a casual atmosphere. Sign me up every time.

Everything is locally sourced and fresh which means the menu item may not stay long so if you have the chance to go.... Try everything!

Although I loved everything my favorite was the crawfish ravioli and corn bread.

Odd duck has been on our short list for a long time and we finally stopped in! This place is Farm to table with a local & seasonal food menu. Everything is made to share so your supposed to order 4-5x things on the menu for two people. It's very vibey without being too ritzy.
Food - Everything we had was unique and special in its own way. I love trying as much food as possible so I was stoked to order 5x different items!
The grilled shrimp was amazing! It's crispy, different and I honestly wanted to order another one. The corn bread was about as good as it gets. The snapper was my favorite dish by far.
We did have a misfire on the crawfish ravioli that was really bad. It tasted like someone accidentally dumped the entire salt shaker into the meal. I'm not sure how that got past their quality control. It would've been perfect if it wasn't seasoned so poorly.

Valet - Valet on site so don't worry too much about parking. It's also free if your dining.
Everything we had was excellent and we'll definitely be coming back!

Menu Change - I'm a big fan of restaurants that constantly change the menu so this place will be in my rotation of similar restaurants and dining experiences!

We went there for an early dinner and for the new happy hour prices. The cornbread was so good! We also had the salmon and the quail. The flavors of both were amazing however the portions rather small for the price. Good service and love the setting. Also enjoyed listening to their playlist.

Odd Duck serves up delicious locally sourced cuisine inspired by the culture of Austin. The exquisite dishes are truly a craftsmanship and all the unique game was such a treat. The owners have such an inspirational story of humble beginnings first starting this eatery out of a trailer with the goals of putting Austin's food scene on the map utilizing local ingredients and suppliers. We really loved the casual and inviting outdoor patio we dined at and the service was wonderful. There's no better way to spend a night than with amazing food, great wine, and with the people you love most!

Everything we had here was fantastic. We sat at the chef's counter which had a great vibe and great views. Drinks were great- good selection including wine, we enjoyed a crémant de loire. The cornbread was easily the best cornbread we've ever had (split it so you don't fill up on just that bc you will eat the whole thing, it's that good). Opted for a delicious Waygu strip for dinner perfectly cooked with exceptional potato tots on the side! We even grabbed a cappuccino and that was great too!
The bar is not open seating so you'll need a reservation- make one early!

I can't believe this was my first time here! I sat at the bar because that was the only thing available on Resy for reservation, but it was very comfortable. Seats were fine and there was plenty of elbow room. As soon as I valet my car, which is complementary, the young woman told me about specials inside the restaurant which was incredibly rare prizing and helpful. Once we got inside it and had a seat at the bar, Darlene was amazing. I chose to have nonalcoholic and went with the river water, which sounds a little strange but looks nothing like river water and has ingredients like cucumber, turmeric, and orange juice and was very refreshing and delicious. Everything on the menu looks great and just know that it changes seasonally so depending on when you see this review, the same thing might not be available but I think that creates mystery and excitement to revisit again. Although I didn't drink, there is a long drink, wine, beer, and cocktail list and so many drinks looked amazing and I was tempted to try. Every single thing we ordered was incredibly delicious. I think we were there for almost 3 hours. Just casually having dishes come out and catching up with my friend. I was stuffed because the recommendation is to order four or five items and share which was perfect, but I wish I would've got the peach cobbler for dessert. I just didn't have any room for it, but I did see someone else get it and it looked amazing. I love how intimate this place is the service was great. Everyone was so friendly telling us hello when we walked in, but also good evening when we left, you can't go wrong.

We went here Friday night for dinner. This was where me and my husband had our first date in Austin, so we love taking visitors and celebrating special events here.
We sat on the covered patio which I was relieved was well air-conditioned. Our server was friendly and funny, and was helpful in helping us decide how many dishes to order. For the four of us, we ordered 8 dishes and two desserts.
      The favorites:
+ Texas pickled vegetables. Wonderfully sour.
+ Grilled and chilled beans. Flavorful, diversity of textures
+ Thai melon salad. Refreshing, flavorful, and unexpected flavor combos.
+ Cornbread. A staple and a must every time.
+ Blackened redfish. Well-cooked, fresh taste.
+ German chocolate cake. Hit all the notes you love about this dessert. Chewy, gooey, sweet.
+ Carrot-cake churros. Perfectly fried and amazing dipping sauce though I wouldn't have known it was carrot cake if that wasn't named.

Ceviche- the flavors and textures were good but this was described as an aguachile, yet it was missing the heat.

Grilled chicken heart skewers- we were split on this. For me, the texture was a little weird and I got a chewy piece that was a turnoff.

Tomahawk pork chop- we were split here too. Two of us thought it was too fatty, and that's not considering the fat cap. I really wanted this to be as amazing as it sounded but there just wasn't enough meat for a 24 oz. chop.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The service and pacing of each dish were top notch and this still remains one of my favorite places in town.
