Everything on the tasting menu was so delicious. I love that you got to choose different dishes so we were able to sample a lot. The portion sizes were pretty good for a tasting menu. We were both stuffed after the 5 courses. The sea bass and sweet shrimp and uni were our favorites. Flavors meshed so well together. And they gave us a little extra cupcake as we were celebrating Chinese Valentine's Day.
Service was fantastic from start to finish. We got checked on multiple times, staff were friendly, explained all the dishes, and were very attentive.
The restaurant is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Intimate lighting, plenty of seating and room to walk around. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 289357886Aug 4, 2024
I celebrated my anniversary here on a Sunday. The atmosphere is pretty chill, and service and food were great. I especially loved the lobster dish, the oiji bowl, and the donuts. Drinks were just okay.
The entire experience was over in an hour, that did feel a bit rushed even for 5 courses. Overall, a great time and an enjoyable Michelin meal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 28, 2024
Elevated michelin star dining experience on all levels. Our server Julie guided us through the pre-fixe menu and there were not hard pushes for upgrades (we did that ourselves, thank you very much). We got seated at a booth that looked into the open kitchen, which was ideal.
First course was a trio of spotted prawn, beef tartare and gyeran-jjim (think savory custard).
Second course was the Bo Ssam for two. I've had this dish literally hundreds of times but this goes back to the elevated comment. Oysters for every bite, dropped onto perfectly cut squares.
Third course chili lobster ramyun and Oiji bowl (sea urchin, sweet shrimp, oili, seaweed rice). Show stopping presentation. They advised me to mix it up but I refused. I like grabbing the rice and picking the toppings, per bite.
Fourth course: dry aged duck and wagyu beef for entrees. As much as I thought the duck was prepared well, the wagyu was the better dish.
Chapssal donuts (fried pastry with cheese inside) paired with the crème fraîche ice cream was decadent. Best dessert for the salty and sweet combination.
Julie checked on us after our first bites of every dish. Our glasses never ran dry and she had a second cocktail out immediately. Cannot stress enough how great the service was. Top tier experience worth every penny. We'll be back soon to try the concept in the next room!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 02441Aug 10, 2024
Was this worth the hype? I don't know. Oiji Mi has a beautiful interior and ambiance, elegant yet comfortable. Lilies of the field is probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had -- it's small but mighty in its flavor and notes. The other two drinks were good but not as memorable. A hot take -- the food was OK but not outstanding in any way. Also, service was mediocre and there seemed to be a rotation of different servers for our table rather than having just one (which made it confusing and lacking attention to our needs). I was most impressed with the bathroom: beautiful & functional. Sad to say I probably won't be back to try it again.

I recently had my birthday dinner at Oiji Mi, and it was an unforgettable experience! The ambiance and space are absolutely lovely, creating a perfect setting for a special night out.
The service was friendly and detail-oriented. Each dish was delicate and bursting with complex flavors, showcasing the chef's expertise in both robust Korean flavors and old school fine dining techniques. We particularly loved the duck dish that is inspired by dakdoritang, a traditional Korean spicy chicken stew. The potato dumplings were the perfect consistency and the sauce was so rich and velvety with a kick! Other honorary mentions include the chili lobster noodles and Bossam!
I was also impressed by the non-alcoholic beverage program, which nailed it from NA wine to fun mocktails and tea pairings. Super thoughtful! The price point is just right for a special occasion without breaking the bank. Highly recommend for anyone looking to celebrate or simply enjoy a fantastic meal!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 62220228Jul 19, 2024
This is probably one of the best meals I've had in a while.
We came on a whim for a special occasion and chose the main dining area for the tasting menu.
So glad we made the spontaneous decision to eat here. LOVE the vibe in this place. Staff have pretty awesome kicks, music is fantastic. And the service and food alike were STELLAR!
The creativity in plating and pairing of flavors were one of the best experiences my taste buds have had in a while.
Beautiful dishes that taste even better than they look? How is that possible? Oiji Mi you owe me nothing lol we're not worthyHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 10, 2024
I'd say 4.5 stars but will round up! Everything I tried was very delicious out of the tasting menu, including the scallop, lobster ramyun, sea bass (favorite course), and bingsu.
The drinks from the bar were also quite strong, but still highly balanced in flavor. Also, service was a standout point!
One issue I had was the price point, which I beleive to be just slightly high for the value received in the tasting menu. However, this is not a huge issue as it is not exorbitant..Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 6, 2024
Great would recommend!
Design of the restaurant was amazing, great ambiance and great service. Food was also overall very good with a few misses.
I went with a party of 3 so we ended up trying everything on the prix-fixe menu. If you need help deciding which to choose here's my recommendations
Yelp doesn't allow greater than as a character so I'll use ) instead
Course 2:
Bossam ) Scallop ) Artichoke
Bossam is a fairly standard dish but executed well. Oyster is overpowered by the pork and toppings.
Course 3:
Lobster Ramyun ) Oiji Bowl ) Octopus
Lobster Ramyun was very creamy and much more unique than the oiji bowl. You can get a variation of uni bap at almost any fancy korean place in the city nowadays. Octopus was very tender and cooked well but lacked flavor in comparison to the other two.
Course 4:
Sea Bass ) Wagyu ) Duck
Sea bass skin was perfectly crisp and the broth and other components of the dish went well together.
The wagyu was tough, but the potato gratin saved the dish
Duck didn't really stand out but was cooked well
Course 5:
Donut ) Bingsu ) Choco Taco
Donuts and Bingsu were both good, probably depends on what you're in the mood for.
Choco Taco shell did not add much in terms of flavor or texture and the ice cream inside was not as good as the other two desserts.
Supplements:
Wagyu samhap - comes with a cool blowtorch show. Lots of wagyu and uni to share, it definitely tastes good but not sure if it's worth the $75 price tag
Kimino "Sparkling juice of Apple" - it's just apple juice in a bottle imported form japan don't do it
Jorg Geirge Winter Pear on Vanilla - pretty good but I looked it up after and the upcharge is insane.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3292383Jun 19, 2024
Ambiance was chic, and very cute, service was great, but the waiter was way too obvious on trying to sell the menu, which made the experience a tad weird.
Everyone received the 3 mini appetizers which were tasty, and then you have the option of choosing different plate for your 2nd/3rd and 4th plate.
We chose the Oiji Mi bowl which was delicious fresh raw shrimp/Uni on a bed of sesame rice. The scallops were not mind blowing. I wouldn't order these if you're expecting these scallops to taste like the creamy ones you get at a sushi omakase.
For our main we chose the Australian wagyu which was so good!! The pairing with the caramelized thousand layer potatoes was excellent!
The doughnut dessert was good, but the sourness from the yogurt threw me off a bit.
Overall this place is great, but I think I went into this place with very high expectations comparing it to similar places, but it lacked that WOW factor for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 6114166Jul 29, 2024
Probably my favorite restaurant in NYC at this point. The interior is beautiful, prix fixe menu is well thought out, service world class. My favorite dish in all of NYC is the Oiji Bowl - could eat it everyday.
