I went in with very low expectations but I was craving Chinese food. The woman working here was extremely nice. They had a large bin of vegetable lo mein made up. I got a large order of lo mein and a side of wontons with homemade sweet and sour sauce. It was $5. The cheapest meal I've ever had in this city, which tends to be prohibitively expensive where food is concerned.

It was good! It was really good. What more is there to say?

      Vegetable lo mein and wantons--$5.

Don't be fooled during COVID by the empty bins at their food counter. We were looking for honey chicken and didn't see any. These folks are doing it right. SO RIGHT. Thanks to this dreaded illness that has restaurants hurting so badly, they aren't cooking in bulk and in advance, but are cooking fresh food to order. I was so happy to know we could get what we wanted and it was good. It was hot. It was fresh.

      Excellent find.

Two things: This is a Chinese food kiosk in a mall. Don't over think this! Second, I've been coming here for years having worked in the immediate area.

This is your standard fast food mall kiosk except it's run by a Vietnamese family, not a chain. It's your standard fare like honey chicken, beef with bell peppers, lo mein, fried rice, etc. They also have some local fare as specials like fried catfish or pork chops. What I like about this place from a food perspective is that they make pretty much everything fresh for you except at lunch-time and you're ordering a high demand item like honey chicken.

That combined with the fact that the family that runs the place is unfailingly nice, super hard working, and very efficient. So all this combined makes this place a four star rating (again, for what it is - a food kiosk in a mall!). If you're in the immediate area and looking for some quick and solid chinese food, you really can't go wrong.

Owner is rude impatient old bitty, menu was slim, ordered "spicy" chicken. There was nothing spicy about it. Pay two dollars for a half a styrofoam cup of dr.pepper and half a cup of foam. Went to ask for a refill during the meal and was told for 1.99. Save yourself hassle eat somewhere else

Very limited choices in the menu and the restricting daily special gives you even less of a choice. Visually, the food didn't look all that special and the taste was very subpar.

Before beginning my meal, I noticed a very long strand of hair on my chicken which completely killed any excitement I might have had before. Also, my Dr Pepper was incredibly watered down.

Do not recommend this place at all.

Well the name cafe is a bit misleading. It's a food court. A sparse and old food court. The food is like any other food court but you definitely feel a bit ostracized. Eat here for convenience but I would not actively seek it out.
The service is nice tho. The lady selling has been selling for years and very open to share her story.

Quick and easy Chinese Fast Food at the Canal Shops. Not much fast food in general area. Good food for an easy bite. Reasonable price. Fried Chicken and Bourbon very good seasoning and flavor. Take it as it is. A Fast food spot in the mall with good food. Combination platter has decent amount of food.

Sweet and sour chicken was double deep fried. Bones in the chicken, all dark meat was used. The fried rice that came with it had shrimp in it (I'm allergic to shellfish)
      Egg roll was cold.
