Is the venue handicap/wherkchair accessible? If so, what type of tickets should be purchased; seat or standing?

      A:

Yes, definitely. I'd contact Preservation Hall directly but have been there when other guests were using wheelchair

    • Q:

      How many people?

      A:

It's tight, maybe 50? Definitely need to have tickets ahead of time. It's a small space. Seats are benches, flat room so if you're back you don't see a lot, but you're there for the music, which is great.

This was highly recommended to my wife by friends and family.

We purchased our tickets online several days before but could only get standing room tickets. The website was easy to use. The venue is intimate so there is a limited number of people that can attend any given showing

The seats are wooden benches, and the standing tickets are basically standing shoulder to shoulder with others in the back.

You need to arrive 30 minutes in advance and have your tickets with you. You will wait in a line outside. When it comes to the standing room tickets, the folks who get there earlier will get better standing room.

No food or drink allowed, BUT, you can bring in water. Be prepared as there is also no food or drinks for sale. You can buy souvenirs after the show, you will walk through the merchandise area ass you head into the seats.

The music and show was awesome! My family and I had a really great time! Depending on when you go, the artists tend to rotate.

      Definitely worth doing!

Sorry but we paid $25 per ticket just to stand a small humid box with no ventilation at all.
The thing that got me upset is that they had ac units but refused to turn it on. After one or two songs I had to step outside.

However they did accommodate my mom's medical condition brought her a chair and wet towel and water which was much appreciated. I just don't think it's worth it to suffer in heat was not enjoyable for me. We watched a brass band.
Staff was friendly . Customer service was 5 stars.

Must do for all jazz enthusiasts! A friend recommended I check this out and am so glad we did. Purchased the standing room only tickets for a Saturday show on a Thursday afternoon as I did not book ahead of time. The performance was ~45 minutes long and they played 7-10 songs (don't quite remember how many songs total). There were some stories and jokes told in between songs so that made the performers more relatable. The band included: trumpet, trombone, clarinet, upright bass, piano and drums.

      Other notes:
-Must arrive 30 minutes ahead of time.

-The ac was not working inside so it can get stuffy so I would wear light clothing or stand in the back near the fan as I did. The room fits 100-150 people but it's not too big as the performers do not use or need a microphone to be heard in the back of the room.

-No recording or taking photos during the performance.

-There's a gift shop where you can purchase some souvenirs.

5/5 stars for an amazing jazz performance. We went here Friday night for the 7:30pm show. I bought the tickets ahead of time on the website. I paid extra for the front row seats and it was worth it. We had the best view and fans were blasting on us. This is a popular venue. We lined up outside the venue 30 minutes before the show, had our tickets scanned and were shown to our seat. There are no videos or photos allowed during the performance.

There are no bathrooms here and it is a small intimate venue. You sit on benches and there is a standing area in the back. The 45 minute jazz performance was authentic, soulful and joyous. I was so happy to see a woman as one of the jazz musicians. This is a must see when you visit the French Quarter and worth every single penny. It was a highlight of my trip here.

We LOVED listening to jazz in this historic venue. I was mesmerized by the ambiance and the music, and the best part was the NO CELLPHONES POLICY! Everyone was really engaged and we were taken to a time long forgotten...Definitely the highlight of our New Orleans trip :)

The shows at Preservation Hall are as good as advertised. Make sure you buy tickets in advance. Several days are usually needed to be safe. Also, show up at least 20 min ahead of time to get a good spot inside. I got the standing room tickets, which were plenty fine for the 45-min concert. The music is just so damn good.

Historic and quaint performance hall located right in downtown NOLA. This was my third time here, and it was just as amazing as the first and second times!!

We purchased tickets in advance, but we decided to stand in line an hour before the show to get the best possible seats (since we didn't have first row tickets). Other people didn't start to show up until 30 min before. They opened the doors 15 minutes prior to the show, and the employees who scanned our tickets and showed us to our seats were very welcoming and friendly!

The performance itself was great; true dixieland jazz. There was a trumpet, clarinet, trombone, piano, bass, and drums. The trumpet and trombone also sang a few songs, and it was a great variety of sounds and songs! No videos or pictures of the performance is allowed

Just be weary they don't allow food or drinks; only bottled water (no open cups). The bathroom was also renovation, so you had to go to the bathroom down the road at pat's or the pizza place.

After the performance, there was a booth for souvenirs that you can purchase too!

Preservation Hall is a must visit when in NOLA. It's not a tourist trap, it's a destination for real, live traditional jazz music! "Since 1961!" Do see and enjoy "The Preservation All-Stars" and their featured artist. Other band iterations include "The Preservation Legacy Band," "The Preservation Jazz Masters, and "Preservation Brass." General admission tickets look to be in the $25.00 range. June 13-June 30 2024, the Preservation Hall venue will undergo renovations and performances during that time will be held at the Toulouse Theatre.

I followed a crowd on a Tuesday night, hoping to experience some of the famed New Orleans jazz, and Preservation Hall truly delivered. The performance was amazing, and we all laughed a lot as a bonus. I'd definitely visit again and highly recommend!

It's a small, intimate venue (little gift shop, no restrooms, no food), bench seating, artfully setup and decorated with a historic vibe. BIG on the music and performance.

I had back row seats and the view was fine, next time I'd probably pay extra to be closer to the stage.
