Quiet little convenience store on the edge of the French Quarter. The food served from the Deli counter had some great reviews, so I stopped to check it out. The red beans and rice were some of the best I've had. Going back to try some other menu items tomorrow!
Went back this morning for the Gumbo and a Po Boy sandwich. Gumbo was awesome, loaded with sausage and chicken, and delicious! Po Boy sandwich is huge, and I won't be needing to buy dinner tonight.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Barton J.Gainesville, FL01Jul 12, 2024
Great Shrimp Poboy at a great price! I highly recommend the Quarter Deli to anyone looking for great food!

Okay, so listen. If you go here and you, like me, are like, "Wtf is happening? How am I here in a place that feels like a Midwest gas station?" I get you. I was about to walk out (I mean, I'm on vacation!). But my partner, who is an avid Yelp reader, said, "Trust me. Yelp says it's good."
And I'm so glad I listened!
The salad, crawfish pie, and rice & beans with catfish...it was exactly what my hungry, Louisiana-flavor-obsessed-mouth needed. And it is SO MUCH CHEAPER than a restaurant. This was a genius plan, and I don't understand how everyone else hasn't had the same plan...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ramez W.Las Vegas, NV69166266Jun 8, 2024
This place is OK. I don't think it's 4 or 5 star place and I don't even think they're trying to be that. The shrimp po boy is ok. It only comes with mayo, lettuce & pickles so it tastes plain. I went without mayo.
The people are very nice. Quick in & out spot right near the French quarter.
The craw fish pie was ok too. Both items definitely need some hot sauce so be prepared for that.
It is fresh and made to order, just a little boring is all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kye J.Los Angeles, CA203248Apr 29, 2024
This is your average Joe neighborhood corner store, that serves hot food in the back. I find that the best food in New Orleans is often found in the back of a liquor store or at the gas station. If you know you know. So if you want fancy, this isn't for you...if you like good food and wanna eat like a local DO THIS. NOW let's get to the meat and potatoes of the matter!
The service: Hey Behbay, whatcha like today? Tells you what comes on the poboy and if you want it on a bun or French bread. Simple, the the point, and fast. It's a to go place, with big easy vibes.
The FOOD: I got 2 Poboys. One shrimp(shrimp not pictured) and one hot sausage. Hot sausage is something you're only gonna find in Louisiana. It's all beef, spicy, perfect amount of salty, fatty, GOOD. The bread soaks up the residual oil and inherits that flavor along with the mayo on a perfect French roll. Do yourself a favor and have this when you go here. The shrimp poboy had perfectly fried shrimp, dressed w/lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo.....just how I like it.
The RED BEANS: Camellia red beans are a beloved brand of beans that are also from "The boot". These beans as my Nola friend says "cook up creamy creamy"; AND THEY DO. They get creamy and delicious. Perfectly seasoned. He gave me lots of beans and a little ball of rice, JUST HOW I LIKE IT. They didn't skimp on the beans.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon E.Fairfax Station, VA257732Aug 10, 2024
Hidden jewel of market/takeout place. Expansive menu with everything from poboys to wings to sone delicious gumbo. They really high quality gumbo, loaded with chicken, sausage and rice in a scrumptious gravy. Also loved the spicy meat pies. It aint fancy but its hometown good NOLA food at fair prices.

Staying in the French Quarters and this market is near our hotel. I usually go there several times during my stay.
It's definitely a one stop shop that doesn't disappoint. I always stop here because they have everything. I usually pick up water and snacks. This time I purchase a small foam cooler because my hotel did not have a refrigerator and I wanted to keep my water and my drinks chilled.
They also have a deli that makes delicious sandwiches. This is usually my last stop because I usually take a sandwich for the plane. Plus, the sandwich is a huge and the price is right.
My shimp po-boy was loaded and only $11.99 for a 12 inch. If it's too much they also have a sandwich for $8.09. My husband had the 12 inch Philly cheese steak without the veggies. It was $11.59 for the 12 inch and $7.99 for the sandwich.
The people who work there are extremely nice and helpful. Don't sleep on this place because the po boys are amazing and the price is rightHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 107017913857Apr 17, 2024
come on down for cigs, liquor or dinner. they have it all.
my huge ass $10 shrimp po boy was good. i wouldnt say its one of the better ones in town, but its huge and hit the spot. i think they put too much mayo on there, and maybe needs more seasonsing or dressing. my date for the cheesesteak and he said it was seasonsed spicy, so keep that in mind.
fun spot, id come back for some quick eats in a minute. especially since the locals seemed to come in and order various things too.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kris B.Redlands, CA0213May 20, 2024

Best corner store meals! I had the best $11 HUGE fried shrimp po boy here. Like why was I paying double the price for smaller ones at these restaurants ?
Everyone loved their sandwiches and lasted each of us for two meals. That's how hefty these mugs were!
I will pick this corner store over any fancy restaurantHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2023
What can I say?! I mean it's a convenience store with a deli in the back. It's at the corner of Burgundy and Dumaine St. The food is phenomenally good. This is no exaggeration when they cook it's none but love put in that pot. The food is always fresh and you're giving a reliable time to come back for it. I think the service here is what's expected of a family own run business. This place is like any other neighborhood Deli. Everyone seems to know everyone else so the fill of all the tourist isn't there. Next, time if you ever are in the French Quarters, stop by and try their fries. I fell in love with them.
