Our server Alejandro was awesome! He was attentive and had great suggestions on what to order, just a super chill vibe to the restaurant. The food was out of this world delicious! We ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy, orange creamsicle beignets, and Costa Rican breakfast. What a fabulous breakfast with a great server, thanks Alejandro!

Wow, this place was amazing from start to finish and really set the mood for our weekend away. We were greeted by Nandi, who was sweet and smiling and let us know it would be a little wait. While waiting we got a boozy coffee. After a 5am flight it was exactly what we needed, strong and woke us right up and ready to explore Nola for the first time.
Our server Chris was a WHOLE VIBE! We loved him! (Hi Chris :D hope you read this!) He was cheerful, attentive, and gave us great recommendations for food and things to do in Nola. We ended up ordering the Pig candy bacon bites (So delicious), Trifecta and Migas. Both entrees were really good but the shrimp benedict was my favorite.
We were so impressed and happy with our first visit to Ruby Slipper, that we went again the following morning. Again, we had Chris as our server and we got to talk to him and the manager Alex. We truly felt like they were our longtime friends and could probably sit there and talk to them for hours. They made us feel so welcomed and were both such genuine souls.
We are so happy we decided to visit Ruby Slipper and truly are so appreciative for the hospitality of Chris, Alex, and the whole staff there. This place rocks, so go! You will not be disappointed! :)
Tip: go on their website to join the waitlist cause it is always so busy there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Other than the powdered sugar, which I don't care for, the pancakes were absolutely amazing. These are the original pancakes and they had a nice crust around the edges. I ended up scraping off the powdered sugar and everything was just fine. Make sure you start out with a bloody Mary. Chris was my server and he was fantastic. He took really good care of me and the hostess who greeted me was also fantastic.
The wait was a challenge for a lot of people, but I got on the waitlist and didn't have to wait long long at all. Make sure you take advantage of the waitlist which you can do online.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Ruby Slipper is always a good choice and never disappoints. The Bennie's are my go to choices. This time I tried the tomato Bennie's which has red tomato's and fried green tomato's. The fried green tomatoes are very crispy. Eggs are always cooked to perfection. This place started my love of Bennie's so I always recommend this route.
It is always busy so expect to wait but it is sooo worth it. We added ourselves to the waitlist beforehand but still ended up waiting about 30 minutes outside the restaurant around 9 am. We were sat at the bar so the bar is on the waitlist as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We found Ruby Slipper via Yelp for an all-day brunch! This small restaurant has an active breakfast bar counter and yummy breakfast food. We stopped in for brunch and their PRIDE mimosa flights. After about a 15-minute wait, we were seated at the bar. Our server Andrew was every "dam*" thang! He made our morning and meal so memorable with his humor and personality.
June is PRIDE Month, and Ruby Slipper is celebrating with a new PRIDE Flight. From June 1st to June 30th, the restaurant will donate $1 from every Mimosa Flight sold to PFLAG National - creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
The Mimosa Flight is $20 and features their sparkling wine paired with Blueberry Lavender, Watermelon Pomegranate, Pineapple Peach Bellini, and Blue Orange.
For breakfast, I ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs + cheese. I added a fried green tomato for $1 and two generous pieces of fried chicken breast for $5 for my grandson. He loved his food and ate everything off his plate, including his waffles. My biscuits were a little more doughy than I prefer and the gravy a tad bit separated by oil rather than being super creamy however, the taste and flavor was good and the eggs were amazing!
It is hard to find inexpensive parking in this area. Most lots charge about $30 (through the parking app) for a few hours, so your best bet is street-metered parking ($2-4) or just a walk from your hotel.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

If you're going to a brunch spot in NOLA this is THE SPOT to go. Been here multiple times and it always hits. Always spot at the bar and a homey feeling.
Coffee - dark and strong
Drinks - flavor, balance, and enough alcohol to get you there
Food - outrageous
Staff - make you feel at home
Don't think just go.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I've been to the Ruby Slipper on Magazine street quite a few times and had a wonderful experience. This location was in walking distance to my hotel so I thought I would visit before I left NOLA.
I arrived on Monday morning around 8:30. The hostess although not the friendliest seated me right away. My waitress came over about 5 minutes later. She was lovely but I didn't get her name.
I usually get the shrimp and grits but opted for the chicken and French toast bites with a side of grits and a cup of coffee. The presentation was beautiful. The food came out warm. The chicken was good. The French toast had a lot of cinnamon and was ok and the grits were mediocre.
I personally wouldn't visit this location again but I wouldn't want to discourage people from visiting.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We are quick to complain about our experience... so I wanted Ruby Slipper to know that they have a genuine gem right there amongst them. Judith!!!
What started off as a terrible experience, turned into a delightful and excellent brunch because Judith cared enough to spread joy and laughter in her amazing service!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
