This was my first time, we came for my fiancés 31st birthday dinner.
We sat at the bar and had very attentive service from the staff. They provided good recommendations for drinks and food.
I had the stuffed shell pasta and fried artichokes, my fiancé had the 20oz ribeye - which was AMAZING!! Highly recommend getting this dish paired with the Nebbiolo wine.
The staff even gave him a signed birthday card and free desserts. Would highly recommend this place for any special occasion as the bar had a vibrant ambiance and outside seating under a flower terrace for anyone that loves to sit outside.

Amazing staff and incredible food. I've been to many places in Detroit but this one is a tried and true favorite of mine. I usually get the pasta (which is phenomenal) but tonight I tried something new.

Incredible. As a fellow italian to another...grazie!!!

I cannot give this place a glowing enough review. This is probably our favorite restaurant in Detroit. We consistently come here and will keep coming back!

We did the chefs tasting menu. All of the food is cooked perfectly, seasoned beautifully, and is well chosen to fit together. The lamb was beautifully tender, artichokes were perfectly salty, and pasta is made handmade in house and beautifully al dente.

Our server was attentive and helpful, waters always filled and plates cleared and replaced. Even our napkins were replaced. The vibe of the place is nice and upscale but not intimidating.

Our drinks were delicious and the post meal espresso was perfectly smooth. Typically the desert is a pistachio gelato which is out of this world but they gave me the cake and ice cream since it was my bday this time which did not disappoint. This place is worth every penny spent and I'm glad we chose to celebrate my bday here!

The service and restaurant vibe were my favorite part about this place. They have a sommelier on staff that came over and asked us questions to help find the best option for our wine choice and he delivered! I am not a huge fan of the seating options in the restaurant. I booked a table and didn't know it was at the bar, so keep that in mind when booking here because it was not the most comfortable and we were packed in. The carpaccio and focaccia were so yummy! Unfortunately, nothing else we had wowed us. We ordered those two starters, Cacio e Pepe, the primavera, and one other pasta that I can't remember the name and we're still hungry after and ended up eating pizza later that night. I wish the portions for a bit larger for the price you pay.

Shewolf is a nice Italian option if you're in downtown/midtown Detroit. We were able to get a bar seat mid- week late spring. They have a beautiful bar and I love the natural light from the windows. Everyone we interacted with from the hostess to the bartenders/sommelier to the wait staff were warm and friendly. Service was super quick.

Their menu has a good range of apps, pastas, and larger plates. Not all of the pastas are typical egg noodles they use different types of grain and flavors to make each pasta unique in texture which I appreciate as a good change from other Italian spots.

As for what we tried -

House made Foccacia - Warm. Great texture. Good if you want something to nibble on with wine or while you wait for your dinner.

Soft shell crab - It's soft shell season so I had to try. This was my favorite of the evening. The buttermilk sauce was tangy and had some herbal notes. The softshell was crispy and fresh.

Short Rib Pasta - I loved the texture of the noodle and the flavor was good overall. I expected a bit more short rib meatiness and some of the pieces I did get were fatty.

Beef carpaccio - This is a good appetizer for 2. The beef is perfectly sliced and of good quality. It's topped with a delicious cheese (I think a parmiggiano regiano of sorts) but the crispy capers really set it off.

All was paired with a glass of their Ceralti Scire wine from Bolgheri which was absolutely delicious.

We made the 3 hour round trip trek to SheWolf at the recommendation of a couple friends. The space is cool: dark yet airy with a good use of mirrors, glass, and hanging things. We were seated at a high top but asked to move to a cozier spot along the back wall. It's a loud place but the music selection was great. Our waitress was very attentive and it seemed like she wanted us to enjoy ourselves. She gave a good rundown of the menu but also the restaurant, including a comment that the pasta making room was open to diners. They make their own grain in house and the focaccia app was surprisingly sturdy and flavorful. We also enjoyed the raw tuna app. Pastas were next: we tried the shells and the bucatini. Honestly, I didn't love either but my husband was happy to finish them. The shells were dry and the bucatini had more sauce than I like. For our entrees we tried the fish which was a showstopper in looks but relatively mild in flavor. The lamb chops were excellent - the sauce packs a punch. Corn side was pretty good also. Unexpectedly, my favorite item was dessert: pistachio gelato which was absolutely divine. They drizzle over a bit of olive oil and some sea salt which was very nice. Oh! And I recommend the beet mocktail. Light and crisp and very pretty to look at.

Food was amazing! Flavors are super unique and you can tell how fresh all the food is. Our waitress Miranda was also great and explained everything very thoroughly and accurately on the menu. Would 100% go back to try even more items on the menu but if I had to order some things again (of the 10 dishes I tried!) I'd definitely get the Sformato, Farinata, and Gnocchi again!

This place is so gorgeous!! I love the ambiance - it's elegant but not uncomfortably so.
The service is amazing! Our server (Kiki) took the best care of us!
The food is awesome! We had the focaccia, cauliflower, and beet dish to start. All were outstanding! And perfect to share! I got the Cacio e Peppe - the spice was phenomenal - I did think the pasta needed a few more minutes in the water though. The dessert though - heavenly!! Chocolate and pistachio gelato - I would go back just for that.
It is a pricy night out but worth it for the love and care that goes into the entire experience. We left with a complimentary bag of pancake mix! We made the pancakes this morning and they were the best I've ever had! Can't wait to go back

Located in Midtown with lots of street parking ($1/hour). Easy to get to and within walking distance from multiple bars and Little Caesars Arena.

We were going to a hockey game so we made early reservations for dinner before the game. We were seated immediately. Service was great. Our waitress and the restaurant staff were very attentive. Our water glasses were always full and our napkins folded every time we left the table.

The restaurant was so cute. It was decorated for Christmas. Loved the lights and all the decor.

This was our first time here and our waitress Katie gave us the lowdown on the menu. It's smaller portions so she recommended 2 appetizers, 1 pasta, and 1 entree to share. She said that we could do 1 appetizer, 1 pasta, 1 entree, and 1 side/vegetable too. This gave my husband and I lots to figure out. Luckily, we like the same foods, but sharing an entree could be a con to some people. I over heard the table next to me trying to work through one person being a vegetarian and a carnivore.

We started our evening off with cocktails. For dinner, we ordered the focaccia, carpaccio, lumache all vodka, and the scallops. Everything was delicious! The focaccia was perfect with the carpaccio. The focaccia comes with a blue cheese spread, but having some bread to scoop up the beef carpaccio was perfect! The pasta and scallops were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious.

Did have room for dessert? No. Did we get dessert. Absolutely! Don't put be in charge of dessert ordering, because I went all out. We tried the chocolate gelato and the maple olive oil cake with a cranberry compote. The chocolate gelato was our favorite. The maple olive oil cake was okay. I'm an olive oil cake fan, but the maple and cranberry compete wasn't my favorite. Give me gelato all day!

We finished our meal off with espresso martinis. It's some form of coffee, right?
