I was in town for a friend's surprise bday party/reunion. We all ate at The Press. This place is located in an art district of the city. We came on a Sunday afternoon and parking wasn't too bad. Surprisingly, inside was quite spacious with a lot of seating. They have an outdoor patio area as well. The staff was great.
Everyone loved their food. The mozzarella sticks were HUGE. It was breaded like fried chicken, not your usual breadcrumbs. They were really good and I highly recommend. I got the Press Cobb salad. It was so big that I had it again for dinner. For leftovers, it was still good.
One of our friends ordered the Press_idente! Margarita. The tequila had a smoky taste and it was strong! Definitely bang for your buck.
I would definitely come back here again.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 1 - 562835Jul 13, 2024Updated review
We decided to give The Press another chance and went for an early dinner.
Ambiance - Cool and casual, but the competing music between the bar dining area where they seated us and the kitchen made it hard to hear each other.
I ordered the Theta-Ish burger on a GF bun, which turned out to just be GF bread. The flavors were great and the bacon was perfect for a sandwich/burger - not too crispy but just crispy enough. I subbed the sweet potatoes tots for the waffle fries and that was a good choice. My spouse had the chicken sandwich on GF bread and said it was just OK.
All in all, the food was way better than the first time we ate here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 24, 2023Previous reviewAfter reading the reviews online, we were anticipating more. Giving it 2 stars for the service.
Pros:
The menu - it had us practically drooling. Whoever wrote the descriptions on the menu did an amazing job.
Server was pleasant.
Country gravy had a great flavor and the mashed potatoes were delish.
Cons:
We both ordered the chicken fried ribeye steak. It was a mistake. It was super fatty with globs of fat that frankly made us both ill.
The green chili chowder had no green chili that we could see nor taste. The potatoes weren't fully cooked in the "chowder" which was more of a loaded potato soup.
I'd skip this one unless you're just looking for a cool place to have a drink. The noise level was so high our server had trouble hearing our orders and had to repeat it back twice. This was on a Monday night. - Jun 22, 20241 check-in
I was pretty excited to try this spot out due to all the good reviews I had seen. Located in OKC, The Press has a cool hipster vibe. We decided to sit outside since it was nice outside.
We initially ordered the queso which I was excited about, but our wait staff appeared to be too high to remember. I can't speak on how well the service was because it wasn't great. I'm fine with wait staff being high because that is what a lot of the industry is, but when it is so apparent and you start missing things on the orders and it's obvious, that's when I have an issue.
The food looked great. I ordered the chicken fried ribeye that came with mashed potatoes and gravy along with asparagus. Also ordered the chowder.
The chowder was really good and had everything you could want in it. The presentation was awesome and would definitely get again. The chicken fried ribeye was good, but not impressive. I would give it a 7/10. The mashed potatoes with gravy and asparagus were really good and would get again.
Overall I would have rated this place a little higher, but my overall experience wasn't great and I would not go out of my way to visit again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 37710352209Apr 27, 2024
I was so thrilled to come across The Press when I was planning our foodventures during our stay in OKC. I wanted to come here because it was the only place, and I can't believe I even found a place period, that has a vegan navajo taco.
I made a reservation for 11 on a Friday morning which was not necessary. The space is pretty big and includes both indoor and outdoor spaces. I love the industrial look. Our server was wonderful and very helpful.
I already knew what I was ordering but I was pleased to see many alluring beverages in their drink menu. I can't find it on the menu online but the one I decided on was the Lulu something. All I can recall was that it had tequila but it was bright pink with some bubbles and a spectacular taste that perfectly balanced sour and sweet. If I didn't just have THE best cocktail of my life a few days prior, this might win that award.
GF ordered their bloody mary which she says was "too peppery for my liking but got the job done". I will say, as someone who was there and who has eye balls, that the garnish was fucking adorable. I think there was even a little baby pickled okra there...
At my urging, GF ordered the theta-ish burger, vegan version. She ate the entire thing and seemed to enjoy it. It was served with waffle cries that were extremely crispy and fantastic. I helped her with those.
I did consider ordering an appetizer but I'm glad I didn't because the navajo taco is an absurdly huge portion and you are hearing this from a binge eater. I maybe was able to eat about half. It was VERY good. It was almost like a salad on top of fried bread. The only thing I have to say is that some of the lettuce had seen better days but 90% of it was crisp and fresh.
This was an excellent meal and I'm so glad we had time to stop in before ending our OKC trip.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Katie T.Oklahoma City, OK9110425Jun 25, 20241 check-in
Visited one evening after hearing good reviews. It was a Sunday evening, not busy. Was seated quickly, service was good. Friendly staff. Started with queso and chips. I would not order this again. It was very processed tasting. It was thick and not very flavorful.
The salads were great! Loved the Cobb salad. My husband loved the Caesar salad. It was all fresh ingredients. The chicken was so good! Now, the only thing would change is the dressing. I tried blue cheese and balsamic, and my husband had the Caesar. The blue cheese was lacking flavor and very thin. The balsamic was very thick. So, I would eat here, but maybe use my own dressing, as the food was great! And since this can be personal preference, try it! The food makes up for this, and you may love it!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Crystal H.Oklahoma City, OK147313Aug 5, 2024
You can turn any salad into a wrap & I love it! The service is good and restaurant is in a super cute part of town in the plaza district.

My family and I have visited OKC a few times, but this was the first time we'd eaten here and we all agreed that it wouldn't be our last. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious and the drinks were even better. The environment is very chill and gave me the feeling of a coffee shop or small cafe. We can't wait to return and try more from the menu.

Went to the PRESS for brunch. It was a super hot day and going inside felt like heaven. We felt like having a little sweet and savory so we ordered the Buffalo Mac n Cheese, cream cheese toast, and short rib quesadilla. The cream cheese toast was delicious!! Not too sweet. The quesadilla was ok, I wouldn't order it again, but the buffalo mac....so dang GOOD!! I've been thinking about it ever since and can't wait to go back again just for that. They use any interesting pasta for the Mac that holds the sauce perfectly. It had the perfect heat and tang just like I like it. And in defense of our server, who was fantastic, she did not recommend the quesadilla. I should have listened to her. My only complaint was that there were a lot of flies. I don't know if that is the norm but I will make sure to go again for that Buffalo Mac and I'll be able to find out when I do so.

Stopped in on a rainy night for dinner. Service was fast and friendly and I was seated promptly. I ordered the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans with a side of mac and cheese.
The presentation was great and portions are plentiful. I enjoyed the fresh scratch made potatoes and green beans. Everything tasted fresh but lacked flavor. I would have added a little more seasonings and it would have been a perfect meal.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1Sep 29, 2022Previous reviewWent for brunch on a coworker's recommendation. I'm glad I did, the restaurant was clean and modern, service was good and my chicken fried steak and eggs were really tasty.

Lunch time specials at the press located at16th plaza district are always clutch! #smacktastic.
I got the burrito bowl over rice with char'd grilled chicken w/ avocado lime dressing.
I had left overs. They have some of the best fried cheese sticks! Very shareable appetizer. The cowboy caviar isn't a bad appetizer as well.
The chili is worth getting with Texas toast!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 2
