My husband and I came here for our 1st wedding anniversary and it was a dream come true!! The host immediately wished us a Happy Anniversary and sat us in the most magical/intimate booth, the perfect setting for an anniversary dinner. Our waitress Sarah was literally so amazing, she made the entire experience so amazing and gave some great recommendations. We couldn't stop being in awe with the ambiance of the place, if you're looking for a nice romantic dinner spot, this is hands down the best one.

Now on to the food/drinks! Everything was to die for! I got the White Rabbit drink which was so fun with the marshmallow on fire! My husband got the moscato which was also so delicious! We shared the meat and cheese board which was good, they also offered GF crackers/bread which was really nice because that's hard to find. My husband got the Rabbit Meatloaf and I was so shocked how much we both liked it (and I am not a fan of meatloaf at all), I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was also so good! We didn't have one thing that was bad, the whole night was perfect!

Oof - we wanted to love it, but it fell incredibly short. Service was decent, our server was kind, however the server who dropped off our food was less than hospitable and didn't even address which steak (ordered same meal cooked medium and medium rare) belonged to who. Just sat them down and scurried off. We then struggled to tell as well as they were both a cold rare, however charred on the outside with a pad of ice cold butter on top. Same with the brussel sprouts appetizer, charred and burnt on the outside, as well as the bacon. Mashed potatoes and asparagus had no flavor. Drinks were 50/50, mine was okay, however my spouses was supposed to be a cucumber mint and tasted like black licorice, I assume this flavor was the "all the seasons goodness" in the Secret Garden. But I feel like a black licorice flavor is something that should be advertised as it isn't a widely popular flavor.
Needless to say we took our steaks how to season and attempt to fix them ourselves and left everything else behind. So much for a nice anniversary dinner totally $160 ‍

All in all if you like your food seasoned and drinks as described I'd suggest anywhere else.

5 stars - The bison lettuce wraps were a delish starter! I loved the leanest of the bison meat and the added tomatillo sauce, pineapple salsa, pickled onions and goat cheese made this dish very satisfying!

4.5 starts - Truffle Mac & Cheese with bacon lardons was cheesy (smoked Gouda) goodness, particularly with the added panko crumbles and bacon pieces adding nice texture. The truffle oil, garlic and herbs added tons of flavor.

5 stars - Whisky Hamish. Everything I love: bourbon, ginger, citrus.

5 stars - The White Rabbit. This was my desert! An elegant desert cocktail with vanilla vodka, coconut rum, creme, and marshmallow cube set on fire!

Fitting of the namesake you enter what looks like a phone booth at street level to go underground; it's very speakeasy-like. Once inside its dark, moody, a bit mysterious, and with very cool Alice in Wonderland (er, at least a take on that theme) murals.

The stairway into the restaurant (which there are many pictures here already) was so cool. Really played the fantasy part of the theme well! We went for drinks on Thursday night then dinner Friday. We made sure to make reservations as there were several conventions in town.

We were so pleased with the menu. The wild game dishes were abundant! We shared the sticky ribs- delicious. I had the rabbit meatloaf- good and interesting. My husband had the elk medallions- they were both of our favorite. So tasty, not gamey, and tender!
Loved the art everywhere. Alice in Wonderland is such a fun concept to draw from!

OK food in a very cool atmosphere.

The entrance to this downtown spot is down a staircase on the sidewalk. Reminiscent of a subway entrance.

The interior is dimly lit, with an Alice in Wonderland theme throughout. Indy music plays in the background. It's a very funky vibe, a lot of fun.

Our server Leah took great care of us. She was friendly, professional and efficient. Thank you!

Tried sticky ribs and fried cauliflower appetizers. The pork ribs were excellent - well smoked, falling off the bone and slathered with an outstanding homemade sauce. The cauliflower was very tasty, with a nice sweet and sour glaze. To me they weren't crunchy enough and seemed greasy.

Had chicken cordon bleu as an entree. A full breast is pounded thin, stuffed with ham and cheese then breaded and broiled. It's served over a scoop of mashed potatoes, atop whole broiled carrots. Surprisingly this dish had some heat.. Not what I was expecting. I don't know what the spice was, but to me the heat took away from the taste. The chicken was slightly dry.

In sum, ambiance and service are 5 star. Food is 3 star. Still, it's a cool place to check out.

I personally am a fan of restaurants that stay true to their theme and this restaurant did exactly that. From the menu QR code stands to the decor in the restroom, this restaurant exceeded expectations in both aesthetics and food quality.

Both metered street parking and structure parking are available. Metered street parking was $1.50 per hour and there was plenty available on all sides of the block. You go in the door and walk down the stairs to get to the restaurant. The website also says that they have an alternate entrance that is wheelchair accessible.

The menu had several creative options and it was nice to see a menu with food and flavor combinations that you don't see as often. Our waitress was extremely friendly and gave our group helpful recommendations on what to order. I tried the chicken cordon blue and the dish looked as good as it tasted. I was able to taste all of the components of the dish that were listed on the menu and it was a pretty decent portion size.

The rabbit hole delivers with an upscale speakeasy vibe. An intimate and dimly lit setting that is full of life when the place is packed at night.

We came on a weekend evening with a reservation and despite every table being full, the service was really good.

The short ribs I ordered fell off the bone and all of the ingredients were fresh and well seasoned.

Not much more you could ask for!

What a cute entrance!! I loved the decor and the food!

Whiskey ribs: we got this to share for the table. It was delicious! The meat was easily taken off the bone. It was sweet and that ... I don't know what it's called... but it felt a little caramelized? I don't know what they did but it was good. I didn't care for the cabbage underneath though. A bit bitter. Best to just leave it as decor haha.

I also got the Elk steak medium rare. It still came out looking a bit medium well. However, they did tell me the steak is a bit tougher. I would definitely get it medium rare as it was still slightly chewy, but oh so good. I tried my friend's duck confit and my other friend's rib dish and in my opinion the elk was hands down the best.

This restaurant is curiouser and curiouser! First, we walked up and down the sidewalk, reading all the names of the restaurants trying to find the entrance. We walked past it a few times before we realized the entrance was on the sidewalk and not part of the traditional structures. As soon as you walk down the stairs, you knew you're in for a treat. It's one thing to have a cool idea for a restaurant, it's another thing to have great tasting food. This place has both. Absolutely recommend The Rabbit Hole. I can't wait to come back and have another white rabbit martini.

Descend into this restaurant via an inconspicuous door at street level. The atmosphere below is reminiscent of a speakeasy and has low lighting and comfortable booths. Murals on the wall give a artsy, yet elevated vibe. We ordered the bison lettuce wraps and bison ribs, both were quite tasty. Dessert options also looked appealing. A fun visit for the unique and appealing atmosphere.
