Went for happy hour on a weekday. They offer three choices of cocktail ($9 each) which were all good, but we especially enjoyed the tanghulu (so aesthetically pleasing and delicious). We also tried their brussels sprouts with garlic miso aioli, which was perfectly crispy and had a little bit of a kick. (Note: there wasn't a specific food offering for happy hour)
The ambiance is great--high ceilings, open windows looking out to the street, a lot of greenery, and seating outside on Fillmore perfect for a good day.
Their cocktail menu is extensive, so will definitely be coming back to try more!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 21, 20242 check-ins
Some of the best cocktails in the city!
Friday night, the boyf and I are browsing yelp.... where can we have good food and good drinks without dropping so much money? Our two options were The Snug or The Rabbit Hole.
We ended up going to The Snug because of the cocktail list and the bites were fitting the cravings more.
We did not make a reservation but we were able to get seated quickly on the second floor counter top, which I did not mind despite the limited table space you have. You do get a good overview of the entire restaurant!
The cocktails really blew me away. It was perfect and my palette... the creativity with the whiskey cocktail options... EUGHHHH!! We each got two drinks here and my favorite one was The Sour. It's so good - I love when sours are creamy and has a bit of sweetness to it. Boyf agrees that cocktails are superb!
It's funny because we were expecting just mid food but everything we ordered was shockingly better than we thought. We got the brussel sprouts, popcorn chicken, and the chicken sandwich with salad all to share. It filled us both up!
Have definitely been recommending this place to my fellow drinkees the minute I realized how good the cocktails are.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 4Oh no 0 - Nick F.San Francisco, CA4044588May 18, 20241 check-in
The Snug is always a favorite! Lots of seating both inside and outside (w/ heaters)!
Range of cocktails, wines, beers, and bites.
Ordered the Monk on Holiday which comes with a scoop of sorbet! The bao buns comes in 3 and we're incredibly juicy. They also serve a delicious wagyu burger.
Everything is a bit pricy though, $23 for the burger.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 33267538Aug 2, 2024
Came here yesterday evening after 6pm with my husband and our daughter. Usually this place is packed but not yesterday, so we were lucky to find a spot for us. We both ordered the burger and one glass of wine. The burger was good, not the best one, and it very similar to the In&Out burger - in terms of the thickness of the meat - but much more expensive. The place has good vibes, and maybe it just that kind of place where it's best just to take a cocktail and share something to eat.

Very cool and hip bar in pacific heights/ Fillmore . Ambiance is very elevated and uplifting. They gave a very fun vibe and the bar area feels inviting. Seating is plentiful. The drinks were great....solid . The sour is particularly great as was the aperol. Great tequila and bourbon list. Wines. Beets are ever rotating and super great variety. Negative....service was slow and very erratic. It wasn't busy and then they kicked us out early...while the staff enjoyed drinks at the bar.

Nice outdoor seating and varied indoor spots. The cocktails were art! The bartenders were excellent, some friendlier than others but an overall great vibe. If you're looking for artsy cocktails in a cool setting in a neighborhood where (at least on this Saturday afternoon) the parking situation is pretty good, snug in!

Stoped into this place yesterday, Tuesday, March 12 at 4 pm hoping to enjoy some happy hour drinks and have early dinner. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired.
Firstly, the nitro margarita tasted like artificial citrus and was far from enjoyable.
Despite hearing great things about the food, we were disappointed when a young female did not allow us to order chips and salsa, despite nachos being on the menu. The inconsistency was baffling, especially when the app they use to order clearly showed nachos with chips and salsa. Even when I was willing to pay $15 for nachos with just the chips and salsa, the staff refused to accommodate. $15 dollars for chips, what business denies this request??
They lack traditional service, as everything is ordered through a QR code at the table. While I usually don't mind this approach, especially when the staff's attitude is subpar. They were unfriendly and unaccommodating throughout our visit.
The lack of flexibility, unwillingness to accommodate requests and the unsatisfactory cocktails was our sign to take our business elsewhere.
While the space itself is nice and locals may enjoy the food because it's convenient for them, I would never recommend this place or return myself out of choice.
The 20% fair wage surcharge seems disproportionate when considering the level of service provided. As someone who typically tips generously, I believe in fair compensation for staff, but it should be reflective of the quality of service received.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - 95696May 12, 2024
Stopped into The Snug for after work drinks. The prickly pear margarita was spicy and delicious. Really the star of the show was the Green Nachos. They were rocking my world, they were so good. I will definitely be coming back to get these. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because you have to order everything and pay on your phone and I hate that. It's like the number one way to kill the ambiance if everyone has to be on their phones. Everything else was amazing and enjoyable.

My husband and I were walking around the Fillmore District and came upon The Snug while on a search for brunch and honestly, a super yummy smash burger from the City. The Fillmore District has so many spots to tuck into, but don't let this one pass you completely by.
We went on a day that it just so happened to be raining, so warm drinks and comfort food were in order! This spot hits the mark when it comes to cozy & cocktails, with a beautiful bar that takes front stage & is most def. the vibe.
Highlights for us were the Crispy Brussel Sprouts (with roasted garlic miso aioli, $12) and the Wagyu Double Smash Cheeseburger (double wagyu beef patties, American cheese, dijonaise, arugula, challah bun, $18) with tater tots! Hit the spot for our cravings, and I would say worthy of consideration for a hidden gem to add to the list of smash burger favorites. Some smash burgers leave you wanting more, some leave your hands and shirt in a bit of a mess, and some you wish just stuck to the basics. This one will have you leaving satisfied and wanting a second round!
To note: they don't accept cash tips, rather include a 20% Fair Wage Surcharge to the check - very cool and worth the quick, google research of how this helps their workers!
All in all, for a chill afternoon with great service, unique cocktails and delicious bites, enjoy the Snug. (we were able to find parking on a side street, so if driving, check out a quick search of spots to park near Fillmore venue).
Enjoy!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 7, 2024Updated review
Great place for drinks!! In addition to a meal of course too. Tried the black walnut drink which was smooth and delicious. They're open early ..so great hangout for happy hour if you have the Monday blues.
