Went for happy hour, plenty of open seats, were seated immediately at the sushi bar.
Vibe: Modern, fun (weebie Anime toys over the oven), clean, and I appreciate the menu holder under the counter as it is a place that you're probably going to order in waves.
Staff: Staff were quick with our orders, friendly, but the standout was the sushi chef in front of us who was engaged but not a 3rd wheel, knowledgeable and fun.
Food: In a neighborhood of really good food (and we went through a lot in a short span), it was standout. The happy hour menu is pretty good considering the neighborhood, the food was some of the best in Denver, specifically the Kurodai Crudo which was unbelievable. We also had the wagyu tartare nigiri, tempura okra, inari temaki and crispy rice. All very good and for me living up to their cost (this is a nicer place and that is an expectation). We didn't get it, but it was impressive that they have a happy hour Omakase and a list of fish straight from Toyosu Market in Japan.
Maybe we came because we watch Josh Weissman on YouTube and we know that this specific location has nothing to do with him but still. I don't know if I'd have come without it. For me, it's a clear standout in RiNo.

Favorite sushi spot in Denver. There's a lot of restaurants around this area but this is the best one by a long shot. High quality, fresh, well prepared, knowledgeable, delicious and the servers are so kind.

I went here for a date night and was surprised by the quality of the entire establishment. I thought "it's Denver how good can it be?" and was pleasantly corrected.

      Do not miss this spot

Came here for a dinner. We made reservation in advance. They have valet parking that you have to pay for, which is weird considering that you are dining in with them.
Ambiance is pretty cool, modern and chic. They have indoor and outdoor dining options.
Service was pretty mediocre to they the least. When we asked a question about wine, she said "it's dry". We had to specifically ask how menu works, usually in the restaurants like that you have a run down of the menu.
Food is obviously expensive and definitely not worth the hype. If you have been in the nice restaurants in the Bay Area or NYC, you definitely will not be impressed.
Menu is rather large and to be honest confusing.
They recommend 6-8 dishes per table for 2 people. Everything is a small plate.
We started with miso soup that was good (but nothing special, definitely had better miso in the past), then we had asparagus salad, which was good, edamame had smokey flavor which I didn't like, we had 2 rolls that again had some smoke flavor in the sauce. We had chicken that was just a regular chicken, nothing special, amberjack crudo was pretty good.
We didn't enjoy flavor profiles very much. I like experimenting but none of the dishes were amazing to be honest.
We ended a meal with sorbet and it was very mediocre as well.
Honestly, very overhyped and overpriced place like everything in Denver. If you lived in NYC or LA area, you will be underwhelmed at this restaurant.

If I could give Uchi 10 stars I would. It was amazing!!!! Definitely the best sushi experience I've ever had! We ordered the happy hour Omakase and added a couple of items we wanted to try. The price was amazing and food was fantastic. David was our chef and prepared the most amazing dishes for us. He checked in with us frequently about our feedback on each dish. Our favorite was the Kurodai, which I've never had. It was amazing!!! Actually everything was delicious. I didn't care for the popsicle dessert, but that was just personal preference. I will definitely be back when I'm in Denver. It is a must try for sushi!!!!!

This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite meal ever. We chose the somakase option so I have no idea what most of it was. We sat at the sushi bar and had our sushi chef in front of us and talking to us and picking our dishes for us the whole time which was amazing. He was so nice and knowledgeable and he picked the perfect dishes for us. He even got me to try soft shell crab! Everything was just amazing. And my most favorite thing ever was the dessert. I love rice pudding and the cherry blossom dessert has a rice pudding ice cream that I might harm people to get at. My only negative is that it was a little loud and I wish the sushi bar was kind of elevated like at temaki den, but it was still a cool interesting place and the hubby says the bathrooms were really nice. I'm excited to try the new Uchiko when it opens.

Everything was so delicious that we kept forgetting to take photos!

We sat at the sushi bar and had the pleasure of talking with the chef. It was entertaining to watch them make the delicious dishes. We tried so many things and loved them all. We got to try ocean trout for the first time and it was so amazing.

Definitely recommend this place for a stellar meal!

Always a must whenever I'm in Denver, especially if I can get squeezed in during happy hour!

I was lucky enough to get seated at the cocktail bar for 1 about 15 minutes before happy hour closed. As always, my go-to is the bincho. This is a tuna nigiri with some truffle and it truly is perfection.

In total, I order 3 orders of the bincho (), the waygu meatball, and the kurodai crudo, along with the seasonal spritz. Everything was DELICIOUS. I loved their crudo--it was such a good balance of salty and sweet and sour. The drink was delicious.

I was also lucky enough to get a pour (gartis!) of their white wine (no idea what it was called).

Overall, I love this place and will ALWAYS return when I'm in town.

Probably the best meal I've had since living in Denver for the last 7 years. We went with friends and decided to splurge on the Omakase and so happy we did. It wasn't cheap , but had zero buyers remorse. It was 10 plates and by the last plate we were pleasantly full. I wish I could remember what each plate was, but once again hands down my favorite meal in Denver.

Service was impeccable. The waitress went over the menu and told us what everything was and provided recommendations on what we should do.

Would recommend if you love sushi and willing to spend the $ a perfect place to go on a date night.

Went to a Maki Roll lesson and tasting dinner. Our first time at Uchi. On the positive side, it was fun learning to how to make one of their signature Maki Rolls, The tasting dinner was just mediocre. While it was enjoyable for the nice people that were also there, the food was disappointing. Much of the food was overly salted and relatively uninteresting. We are new to Denver and wanted to try this place. We are happy we did but we won't go back. If you are a true fan of authentic sushi this is not your place.
