I would like to honor this, the very best of holidays, by vicarious enjoyment of sandwiches. Sandwiches are my favorite food (right now), and they are the very best food there is. Yes, sandwiches are better than sushi.
Tell me something about a sandwich...like where you purchase the very best sandwich or what goes on it or the bread recipe you prefer.
I will start the ball rolling with visions of a cheeseburger po-boy, dressed with hot sauce from Williams on St. Charles and Jackson. That is a damn fine sandwich.
And a bonus ode to sandwiches: youtu.be/eEVg1daIdYs?t=2…11/3/2014 -
I had no idea this was national sandwich today and yet, I ate a sammie today. I had 1/2 of the cattle fodder that I purchased over the weekend at Milk Bar. Their sandwiches are large and delicious and often make 2 meals for me.

Our favorite weird sandwich (because we are weird) is honey ham, onions, Swish Cheese, homemade mayo and BBQ Fritos. It's a strange mix but tastes amazing. Can't have it very often though.
Can't have it at all now. Sick.11/3/2014 -

This is way cool Suzanne! I actually had a sandwich for dinner tonight, how funny! My favorite sandwiches are from Milk Bar. A gf of mine loves the George Clooney but I can't remember the one that I liked. Do paninis count too? If so, I love Nona Mia's prima panini!

I had a rather unremarkable turkey croissant-wich at work today (catered, not by choice). Not much of a "celebration" of the holiday, more of an acknowledgement. I am also a Milk Bar fan (I love the George Clooney as well) and Stein's! I live for a good Reuben sandy.

I don't treat myself to sandwiches as often as I'd like, but Jolie's in Lafayette has the best BLT I have ever had. Ever.

Y'all should try some of the sandwiches fresh made at the ochsner Baptist cafeteria. Some are really good and not too pricey.

When I want a sandwich, I want a po-boy. When I want a po-boy, I want a fried shrimp po-boy. When I want a fried shrimp po-boy, I go to Guy's on Magazine. Dressed. That is all.

Pork belly on white from Cochon Butcher is my current jam. Indulgent and fabulous.

How could I forget the pork belly at Butcher?! Been way too long since I've treated myself to one of those. Hmm...weekend lunch plans, set!
