Camera Repair, broken LCD screen (Canon Powershot SX100IS)

I searched Yelp for local camera repair shops...the place I just called said they don't do it, they send it to Canon, which I'm trying to avoid. Can anyone recommend a local/somewhat local place that could repair a cracked LCD screen?
Thanks for any suggestions!3/30/2010 -

Why are you trying to avoid sending it to Canon?
Their repair center is in Orange County. I hear turn-around is pretty quick. And they also have walk-in service. If you're ever in the area, just bring it it in yourself. It will probably be fixed in the same day.3/30/2010 -

OMG, Liz, just to look at it will cost like 200 bucks. You're talking 500 bucks easily. Is it a prosumer cam corder that cost you 3k? if not, just buy a new one and keep that one in case you come across another cam with a similar lcd monitor and just try and do it yourself. it might be a good educational experience for you

I dunno.. Canon has been known to fix/replace certain parts for free if you walk in. You might get lucky.
But then again, the SX100 is pretty old. Might as well buy a new one.3/30/2010
