Laundry in the middle of the night???

We live in an apartment complex and the guy above us is doing his laundry around 1-3 am. The spin cycle gets off kilter and makes a loud thump sound, which he repeatedly ignores for about a couple of minutes before somebody bangs on the wall. I am thinking of slipping a note under his door to make him aware that he has neighbors and that doing laundry in the middle of the night is disturbing our sleep. We get up quite early to go to work.
What should I write in the note?

    Hi,

We have to wake up very early in the mornings for work.  Could you please not run the dryer after 10pm, the noise is very loud and it's impossible to sleep while it's running.

    Thanks!

Make him your best friend, otherwise he's going to say f* off

Offer to fold and iron if he does his laundry at a more reasonable hour.

Ok I put a letter under the door. I hope he reads it and stops doing his laundry at 1 am!

Or a bartender or works for the cleaners and takes his "work" home with him.
