‘In these hard economic times, we’ve kept our prices low with most of the items being handcrafted and under $10 and many under $5.’

Cottagecore and fairyland-inspired crockery ranges are currently all the rage.

Food influencers are loving them and so are we — however they do tend to be on the pricier side.

But shoppers are going wild over The Reject Shop’s new Secret Garden kitchenware range, which is a “dupe of your favourite designer homewares for a fraction of the price.

New insights from Pinterest have revealed the collection is right on trend, with searches for “Fairy Dinner Party” up 150 per cent and “Floral Tea Party” up 160 per cent.

What makes this collection even better is that it’s a fraction of the price in comparison to its high-end counterparts.

The Reject Shop’s Cabbage Patch Dip Bowls are priced at $4 each, with the Cabbage Patch Shallow Bowls going for $5 each and the Cabbage Patch Plates priced at $6 each.

By comparison, designer homewares brand, Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage Bowls and Plates are priced at $47 each and the brand’s Cabbage Appetiser Plates are being sold for $98 per plate.

Although Bordallo Pinheiro’s cabbage homewares collection is made from higher quality materials, shoppers love The Reject Shop’s range due to its affordability.

The Reject Shop’s chief operating officer Amy Eshuys tells 7Life: “We strive to maintain a balance between affordability, quality and style, which is achieved through several key strategies including direct sourcing and quality control.”

“In these hard economic times, we’ve kept our prices low with most of the items being handcrafted and under $10 and many under $5,” Amy says.

“Customer feedback regarding the affordability of our previous homeware ranges has been overwhelmingly positive. We’ve seen a surge in videos shared on social media where our customers are sharing their love for our products and prices with others, which has been great to see.

“Our products compare favourably to higher-priced alternatives in terms of durability and design.”

The Secret Garden kitchenware range will be in select Reject Shop stores across the country from June 25 and is expected to be in all stores by July 1.
