This is the second book, following Ghost in the Serpent. Caina is tasked with figuring out what the snake cultists are after and how they are working, as well as protecting innocents from attack. Caina uses her intellect and her many connections to remove some of the veils concealing her enemy.
Jonathan Moeller finally gives in to his dark side, introducing elves and orcs into the once human only world of the Ghosts.
