Time Warrior is a revolutionary, non-linear approach to dealing with time, as bold as it is fresh and new. What is non-linear time management? Non-linear time management is a commitment to action in the present moment. It's looking at a task and choosing NOW or “not now.” If it's not now, it's got to be NEVER, or placed in a time capsule that has a spot on the calendar and therefore out of the mind. The mind must remain clear and empty of all future considerations. In non-linear time management there is no line extending from my mind into the future. No tapeworm of unfinished business coming out of my body.Non-linear time management is best expressed by Elvis Presley when he sings, “It's now or never, come hold me tight.” The old-fashioned time management programs had a huge, burdensome focus on the future. The line of tasks stretched out forever into the future. It was fear-based and it was overwhelming to have so much of a future to carry around with you.It resulted in massive, pathological procrastination. Everything got put off in the name of perfectionism. Nothing was bold or reckless anymore. Therefore there wasn't much astonishing success happening for the world-weary practitioner. But when Chandler teaches people to go non-linear, a strange thing happens. New life and energy come in. When they open their emails they don't get to save them for later. They have to deal with them if they open them. Like little attackers in a computer game, there is no longer anywhere to hide. Life becomes a great game and everything is handled right now on the spot. All fear comes from picturing the future. Putting things off increases that fear. Soon we are nothing but heavy minds weighing down on weary brains. Too much future will do that.Only a warrior's approach will solve this. A warrior takes his sword to the future. A warrior also takes his sword to all circumstances that don't allow him to fully focus. Chandler is a coach by profession, and when he works with a client who is “overwhelmed” with too much to do and not enough time to do it he will often ask them to give him an example of one of the things they are burdened by every time they think about it. The client will give him an example and they will do that thing right now. The client is amazed. The only thing missing in this client's life was a bias for action. Most people think too much. Then they compound that problem by studying the feelings that come up for them as a result of that thinking. All this time that they spend thinking and feeling they could have been taking action. In a non-linear way. Linear time starts with your birth and ends (at the end of the line) with your death. Along that long linear line it's just one damn thing after another. Then the lights go out. What was the point? Non-linear time management stops all that weary nonsensical treading on the road to one's destiny.Rather than inching along horizontally you must simply rise up. Your life can now become vertical. Now you don't postpone challenges, you rise to them. You become a warrior. And it works. How, exactly, does it work? This book will show you exactly how it works.

Review

"Time Warrior is that rarest of books -- a book that "changes the game" of so-called time management. Steve Chandler takes a radical, visionary approach that will increase your productivity immediately, and will forever change the way you think about time, work, and what you want to do with your life. He begins with the idea that YOU are in charge of your life, and NOW is the best (and, in fact, only) time to do what needs to be done.

I've read a lot of books on this subject, and I've given them all away. Once again Steve Chandler has changed my mind and my life. Thank you Steve!"

Karl LaFong

"Reading Steve Chandler's book is like having an incredibly wise, funny and pragmatic friend right beside you, helping you out. His prose is salty, funny, accessible - like the perfect combination of Dr. Phil, Ben Franklin and Mark Twain - looking you in the eye and saying, "take yourself seriously, use all of your powers, and stop kidding yourself!!" I loved this book."

Delaney Faulk

"I can't put this book down. Steve Chandler's Time Warrior is a samurai sword that has the power to slice away distraction and procrastination for good. I love this book because it takes the idea of managing time and obliterates it. Read this book and you'll learn how you create time, rather than manage it. Time Warrior is more than insight and principles. It is an experience that will have you "rising up" and creating your life with purpose and boldness."

I've discovered one of the best kept secrets in Time Management, especially for a "creative" mind like mine! It's the Time Warrior by Steve Chandler!

For decades I used to be so motivated, having lots of coffee to keep selling selling..focusing, driving...creating....problem solving....and then one day I just burned out! My body put a stop to it and claimed its sleep! I lost all motivation and energy. Coffee no longer jump started my day and when I even thought about getting back into my professional life, starting with managing my time, I felt sick.

Brian Tracy's aggressive approach in his books now overwhelmed me emotionally and made me feel nauseous. Then, after two years of retreating, by chance, I heard Steve's interview on Michael Neill's show.

When I saw the subject of Michael's show, Time Management, I almost didn't listen, but something whispered to just give it a chance. After hearing this interview, I immediately ordered Steve's book. It has been such a gentle push for me! Little tiny nuggets are showered in the book like, "What do I want to produce? What structure will guarantee that?" and "By simply beginning the task we were putting off, and finding out by doing so that well begun is half done."

Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed with too much to do, I read, "Just do that one thing - you know what it is - it's the thing you're thinking about right now." I focus on that next action with ease and without overwhelming and stressing myself out!

The Time Warrior has been like a bible to me. I have sentences underlined, highlighted, marked, and I carry it with me everywhere I go to keep focused and motivated! It's perfect for the person who tends to get distracted a lot as well.

The Time Warrior isn't just about managing time. It actually gives the reader the gentle and simple tools to overcome their psychological blocks and to become an honorable person of integrity.

Through this book, I discovered Steve Chandler's work! He has audio downloads of his coaching that is so effective and interesting! He has a lot of samples of his coaching on his website as well. And his publishing company, Maurice Bassett, is wonderful! I personally spoke with Maurice about a download I wanted to purchase, and this gentleman was filled with great information and was so inspiring, kind, and helpful!

My daily life is richer now, because I discovered the work and service of Steve Chandler and Maurice!

If you are burnt out, tired of striving to meet your goals every day, tired of your undone to-do lists, and feel like you can't keep a thought in your brain, this book is for you! And, even if you feel on-fire with your to-do list, the tools in this book will prevent burn out and get you to where you want to go sooner and from the state of authenticity.

This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE books! Thank you, Steve, for writing it, and thank you, Maurice for publishing it! The world is a better place because of your work!!!

Time Warrior---a new classic
This book is oh-so thrilling to me. Because I have been studying and teaching about use of one's time for ten years and I feel Steve has got this topic nailed.
I love his directness and simplicity. His system is focused on being in the present and focusing on one thing at a time---no matter what!. An example for instance is his advice on checking on our email. When we do it--do it completely--answer all letters and have done with it--it's NOW or never. I tried this yesterday. I approached my email, intentionally and leisurely. At the end of my email session, I felt complete and clean. And also much more aware of what was being said to me in the emails. Steve says "I now hold focusing on the task at hand to be a slow and sacred practice." My, my, my, what a wonderful way to live. It takes practice. But one lives one's life more effectively.
He says things in a way that makes us understand it clearly. Maybe we've heard this term-do one thing at a time before--but somehow Steve cuts through our fog and we sit up and pay attention and are actually inspired to do what he suggests.
It's easy to read and would serve as a good reference book. I've read it twice and will read it again soon. I also like that he gives credit to his mentors and tells us how to find them.
One feels that one can trust what he says. Steve has written many books and has been in the motivational field for twenty years. He's worked with hundreds of clients. And he turned his own life around by working with great teachers.
He tackles such big subjects as people pleasing, self- doubt and over-commitment. And he tells us that we must abolish interruptions and distractions in such a way that these admonitions can be clearly heard. "One hour of interrupted time is worth three hours of interrupted time." And he states clearly and succinctly that usually a time management problem is a "lack of purpose" problem.
The person reading his book will learn about returning to the present, over and over and detaching from the future and the past. For as Steve explains, by entering the present, we burst through the barriers of linear-boring old time and become timeless.
Buy this book.

If you're in middle school or at best high school this may be a good read, but beyond that it's the kind of advice you will find on buzzfeed or yahoo! Really don't need a book to understand you should prioritize, make lists, act and stop procastinating etc.

Let me say this first - I love Steve Chandler. I've read at least 10 of his books, all multiple times. This one is no exception. As usual for a Steve Chandler book, you get more than you expect. I expected to get time management strategies and tips and tricks. Steve doesn't do tips and tricks. He goes deep, to the root, and helps you weed it out. Expect to rethink how you think about time. Forever. And expect to rethink about how you use your time. Thank you Steve, eternally!

4.0 out of 5 stars Libro divertido para conseguir tomar control de tu tiempo
Reviewed in Spain on October 31, 2016

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of things regarding my life
Reviewed in Mexico on October 23, 2015
-what I liked:
the are a lot of matters in this book that I actually have seen in my life, some of them I started to apply them and actually I found some improvements in the quality of life that I have, and better results, so far, im more organized and have more goals completed.

-What I learned:
one of the main things I learned is the mantra "everything is in your head", there are a lot of issues, good things and bad things in life, but the way we face them is what actually makes the difference, and the determination we take and the fearless we have regarding the weay we do the things is what actually kills procrastination, helped me to wash away my victim of life and circunstances status, and help me to look at myself with more personal value, that is one of the other things I learned from this book, value comes from ourselves, not from the others.
