This book will get you out of your fears NOW, out of the future which is generating them.
I have read this book twice, and keep it handy. What's great about this author is that he illustrates concepts and distinctions in short chapters that you can easily pick up and put down as needed. That is also what makes it so addictive, the writing is concise and the points are sharp. It has a momentum to it, and each time you read from it you can `feel' a difference. The basic premise is identifying fear at the base of our challenges and struggles in life. It sounds too incredibly simplistic, and that is its beauty. If you if are willing to reflect as you read you will see fear in your own life holding you back, making your miserable. Fear hiding behind all sorts of excuses and stories. This quote is mentioned early int he book by Buckminster Fuller and it sums the mechanics the book reveals.

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." With this book you create a model to make your fears obsolete.

As humans we are only born with two fears ... loud noises and falling... so Steve shows us what it can be like to eliminate the crippling fears we intricately weave since birth.
What he offers is not a book about how to muster up courage and do things you are afraid of. Instead he shows us how we can just be fearless and overcome these obstacles much quicker, without having to psych ourselves up.

What's great is that Steve is self admitted natural coward who discovered a way to fearlessness. Through it success and freedom of spirit flow. He is has a unique angle to form such an opinion. He has been a fortune 500 business coach/consultant and motivational speaker. He is sharing the basic patterns and solutions that work for all the executive clients he's had over the years. I was skeptical that life could be so simple, then I became intoxicated with all the possibilities of what he illustrates.

After reading this book, I had the rare opportunity to actually speak with this author myself. Moments before we met, I toyed with a thought from his book. What is the fear behind all my struggles in my life right now, if I had to reduce it down to one statement, one sentence? And BAM it hit me. For the first time in my life I realized that all my depression and anxiety could be rooted in a basic fear, that I could put into a sentence. Of course actually getting to talk to Steve he showed me ways to overcome it; I really get an appreciation for his mastery of motivation and fearlessness. He has a peaceful wisdom about him and is transparent in ways that you might find unbelievable outside of fiction.

If you'd like to experience life in a liberating and fearless way, I highly recommend this book. I make sure to read from it as often as possible.

“Courage is all any of my clients have ever wanted, too. Though they call it a million different things. Courage is always what is missing. (For example, even the solution to the time management problem is the introduction of boldness.) In all quests for success, what people really want to be is fearless. So I’ll tell you how I get them there.”

“All hopes and wishes are born of fear. They are a clinging to an imaginary “better” condition than this. Why just hope and dream? Work now. This is all you need. This gentle fearless moment right now.”

~ Steve Chandler from Fearless

Steve Chandler is a funny guy.

And, he’s brilliant.

I really like that combo. :)

We have Notes on two of his other great books: 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself + Time Warrior.

All of Steve’s books are quick-reading, wisdom-packed gems that will make you laugh as you get your wisdom on. I highly recommend them!

Fearless is packed with Big Ideas on—you guessed it!—how to eliminate fear from our lives.

Let’s have some fun taking a quick peek at a few of my favorites Big Ideas:

1. Life-Changing Gifts - Another way to look at problems.
2. Challenge Fear Thoughts - Always.
3. Focusing on the Big Get - Is a recipe for fear. Shift to giving.
4. Something Masterful - Create it!
5. Tectonic Shifts - Occur when we embrace failure.

Here’s to being fearless and giving our gifts to our families and world, my friend.

I read most of this book in one sitting, and while I found it reasonably inspiring, I'm afraid I didn't find it as inspiring as most of the other reviewers here. I am a high school English teacher, and I think the book is pretty loosely edited. I found several errors, most of which might be considered nit picky ("....to whomever was...."). I wasn't impressed with the writing style either, although that is more a preference than a criticism. No harm done in reading "Fearless." I'm just not sure my life was much changed by it.

Great book, very encouraging. I recommend reading it. I have one comment about this book which is: there are some chapters (actually few of them) that are not related to the subject, or at least you feel they do not relate 100% to the subject of the book despite the fact that Steve Chandler is trying to make them fit in his advise of being fearless.

Other than that, the book is great.

This is my first time reading a Steve Chandler book, and I'm becoming his fan! You may think, that having the courage to be fearless and change is one event, either you have it or you don't. But reading this book you learn that having the courage to change is a process, it takes time to create it. Through this book he teaches you how to undo misbeliefs, how to produce a shift in the way you think and feel. I like the style of this book, he shares deep thoughts, deep truths, but he knows how to communicate them in an easy way, using everyday examples and a lot of common sense.

He challenges you to put yourself and your well-being at the top of your list, otherwise you will never meet with you, because the line is too long. I learned that I was giving my most important activity (creating my life) the least attention and respect of all the things I do. This book has been a blessing in my life, is both deep and practical, he teaches you how to free yourself from sick thinking patters and that putting yourself first is a fearless decision. I highly recommend this book!!
