About this item

  • 4K ULED: Like 4K great, but better. The 55U7G has our exclusive ULED technologies. They boost color, contrast, brightness, motion we could go on. It’s the TV your old TV wants to be.
  • Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut: See over one billion shades. Quantum Dot produces purer, richer, more brilliant and accurate colors than a regular LED TV. We could get into how it works. But it’s a lot easier to say it makes every day look like the 4th of July.
  • Ultra Motion and 120Hz Native refresh rate: Ultra Motion removes the digital ‘noise’ that can affect moving objects. Whether it’s a bird, a plane or the man of steel, everything you see is exceptionally clear. Blurred lines. Not on this TV, the 120Hz native refresh rate means smoother gaming with pictures that keep up with your play.
  • Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos: Dolby Vision HDR picture and Dolby Atmos sound are cinema technology for your home. They provide amazing realism you can see and hear in every scene.
  • IMAX Enhanced: IMAX Enhanced brings the cinema experience home. It combines digitally remastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technologies with the best consumer products and streaming platforms. Built for people who want a more premier, at-home experience.

    Product Description

Sure, the Hisense U7G TV series is great for Netflix, the big game, and the real housewives of wherever. But the U7G is made for the gamers. It's got our exclusive ULED technologies, 4K resolution, Quantum Dot Color, Dolby Vision HDR, Full Array Local Dimming zones and Android TV operating system. On top of all that, Hisense added a 120Hz Native panel for smoother, more fluid motion and HDMI 2.1, Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode for gaming that looks sick, even if you suck. The U7G also has up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, which makes HDR ‘pop’ and means the picture is lit no matter how bright the room. All this looks great on paper. Now think how much better it would look on this TV.

    Ghosting and juddering

    Ghosting and juddering
For the price I paid and knowing this TV is not $1.5K, my expectations were not too high from the beginning, and I think my paying what I did was worth it ($650) despite some issues. I have had this TV for over a month now, so here is what I think about this TV (65U7G).-Delivery. Mine was delivered a day or two late via UPS, and luckily I found no damages inside. The box outside had some damages.-Wall mounting. This TV has 300x200 vesa mount on lower part of the TV. I had a hard time mounting this TV because of the weird vesa size and location.-Build quality and design. I like it. The overall quality does not feel or look cheap. Thin bezel, not so thick panel.
-Picture quality. The picture quality is where my disappointment sits. Upon first testing, I immediately noticed some ghosting and juddering issue. Juddering or choppy motion images happens when there is an object moving slowly. Ghosting is noticeable when the scene is dark. AppleTV 4K, Google TV via 8K HDMI 2.1 high speed cable, and the built in Android TV, all showed the same issue. Changing picture/motion settings did not solve the issue. I was going to return this TV because of these issues (once I noticed, viewing became unwatchable whether I had paid $200 or $2000 for the TV), but I decided to wait for the firmware update. Because, apparently, I was not the only one with these issues, and some people got the new firmware (BETA) through Hisense directly and got their issues fixed. I contacted Hisense via email and received no reply at all. Luckily the OTA update happened few days ago on my TV, and I see 90% of juddering gone although I still see some ghosting here and there. The motion scenes are still somewhat not as smooth as I wish it to be, but I am glad to see the annoying juddering (almost) gone. The default color setting seems to be accurate for now, but I can always fine tune and calibrate if desired. There are also several Dolby vision settings. Although not perfect, the movie scenes looked great with the default Dolby Vision IQ. With Dolby vision, picture quality is overall nice with a minor inferiority in shadow and black area, but sometimes it is way too bright for my room setting; I wonder if the ambient light sensor works accordingly. Speaking of brightness, having full array local dimming versus edge lit is nice. I see no light bleeding on my panel as well. Having no punchy contrast with no ‘greyed’ black (although it’s raised) is also great. However, viewing angle is not that great compared to IPS panel TVs and monitors (I believe this one is VA panel TV). If viewed from the side, colors look washed out and flat.-Sound quality. I have no complaints about TV speakers’ sound quality. The sound quality is not super, but it not cheap either. The sound is loud and clear for normal TV viewing (volume level at 15 out of 100), and I use my home theater system for movie watching. I do not expect a lot from TV speakers, and Dolby Atmos from TV speakers made no difference, fyi.Overall, this is a good value TV, which is worth what I paid, in my opinion (after the update.) Similar TVs in this class cost several hundreds more, and those might have different kinds of issues as well. Understanding that there are no perfect TVs no matter the price tag is better for my mental health. This TV is certainly not a high end TV, and my expectation was reasonable, and certainly it meets my expectation: decent picture quality, size, and price.

I needed to replace a 65" TCL 5 series that was in direct sunlight in our condo, and basically was not watchable midday despite it's beautiful colors and 4K. I had bought a cheaper 75" Samsung for the bedroom last year and was contemplating getting a Samsung QN85A 75" for the living room for several reasons:
    - IPS panel meant it had wide viewing angles. We frequently have the TV on while cooking in the kitchen or having guests over (our living room and kitchen are open concept)
    - Very high nits/peak brightness, so does very well in very bright daylight conditions
    - Local dimming, so that it also does well for watching movies at night as a family
    - 4K at 120Hz on HDMI 2.1 so that I can play Halo with zero lag/competitively at times
    - Very thin and can be mounted right up against the wall so that it looks sleek
    - Ambient plus mode to display family photos when not in use

The best price I could find for the Samsung through Greentoe offers was $1800-2000+tax. Then I started reading more into the Hisense U7G 75" and got it for $1100 here on Amazon. I figured I could try it out and if I didn't like it I would return it and get the Samsung. In case you are wondering, it does all of the above that the QN85A does with several concessions:
    - It is thicker, but is still able to hang off of the wall with a slim mount. It looks fantastic.
    - When you shut off the google microphone that is always listening to you, three annoying bright LEDs are lit on the front bottom of the TV at all times. I covered those with a strip of electric tape and you can't tell.
    - The IPS panel does not appear to function much different than the smaller versions of the U7G, since the 90 local dimming zones function excellent. However, just like all the U7G line, there is indeed some noticeable blooming artifact when watching very dark stuff at night. This is the biggest difference when you compare it to the Samsung QN85A. It isn't totally noticeable around subtitles, but in some shows like Moon Knight where a character's face will be shown in the pitch darkness, you will see a subtle halo around the image. You have to decide how much this is going to bother you. It doesn't really bother me anymore. The first time I noticed it, it definitely bothered me. But because the picture is overall other-worldy and the android OS functions at lightning speed, I am in love with this TV. The $900 saved is definitely a big enough price point for me to be happy not getting the big brand Samsung. This TV is truly stunning to look at. 9/10 of our friends don't understand picture fidelity or any of the technology like I do so they are blown away by the TV when they come over regardless. Only one person in a while will point out that it is not a top tier brand. But at this point I'm like, whatever. $900 is $900.

What I like most about this tv is the specs and perks for the price. I have heard MANY things about this brand of tv and the model, both good and bad. I was very hesitant to purchase this model because I wasn't as familiar with Hisense on a personal purchase level. I did a lot of research and decided for the price this was the cheapest "Fully Loaded" tv I could get. I definitely wanted the 120 refresh rate and most tvs have 60, unless you want to spend more. Or they might not have as many features etc. I'm sure if you're reading this you've done your own research and understand. When it comes to the quality of the tv..it's pretty good. In the past I've usually went with a lower end 4k model. I bought a 65" Sceptre 4k for a little under $400 @WallyWorld. That tv is decent for the price and got my family through the C-19. So going from that quality of tv to this Hisense 75U7G was a big upgrade. This tv (Specs Wise) is pretty loaded. The screen is crisp, blacks are black and overall is really good for the price. I like that it has extras built in, like a Headphone jack, just incase you need it for an external speaker, back-lit remote for night time watching, Legacy connection for older gear and Google Assistant as well. I've never had an Android tv before, so it's pretty cool being able to talk to my tv.lol. My family and I have Google already in the house, along with many Alexas. The one issue I ran into as far as "Assistants" go, is the Alexa feature. I couldn't get the "skill" to work at all. I was, and still am, very disappointed with that. Not a huge deal, but I would like to use it if I want. The reviews on that skill are horrible so it's not just me. The Google Assistant worked fine though. So when I'm feeling lazy I can just scream at the tv to do things for me. Also, the tv is Android so its like a giant phone on the wall. I did some thinking and wondered if I could use it like a phone and play games on it. It has Bluetooth built in, so I grabbed my PS5 controller and hooked it up..it worked! Lol. The kids and I downloaded some games and played them on the tv itself. How cool is that? I will say this..The shipping was horrible. My package got unnecessarily delayed a couple times and took 19 days to arrive. Not a big deal to some people, but for me it was like torture. Lol. After all that wait it finally arrived..and the box looked like it had been kicked around by a Mountain Troll from the Hobbit. Lol. Kinda reminded me of Ace Ventura. 😁 Anyway, I got it up and turned it on for a full inspection. Overall it worked but there was a lot of Light Bleeding going on. I got unlucky, but I hope if you purchase this tv your transaction is smoother than mine. Good luck, Fam!

4.0 out of 5 stars Angulo de vision malo
