    I really didn't want a smart TV, but at first I bought a basic (non smart TV) Westinghouse brand and it was horrible. The sound wasn't loud enough and was even worse when watching a dvd. I didn't want to, but just had to return it. Then I bought this wonderful Toshiba Smart TV and it is awesome. The picture quality and color is superior to the Westinghouse and the volume works so well that it can actually get too loud! We had Toshiba TV when I was a kid and I remember it was a great tv and that hasn't changed! Trust me, you will LOVE this TV.

    Nearly threw the TV away. I did a factory reset. The TV no longer recognized the remote. The TV was stuck on the “choose your language”screen.
    Every method of resetting and pairing the remote listed on here was tried. I even bought a universal remote to try to get past it. .
    I almost threw the tv away.
    I went without it for months.
    I finally found an answer on Amazon.uk.
    This is the ONLY thing that works to re-pair a remote after the tv is factory reset, if this happens to you.
    To reset most Fire TV remotes: Unplug your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds. Press and hold the Left button, Menu button, and Back button at the same time. Hold them for 12 seconds. Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds.

    Unlike most flat screen TVs the sound on this model is actually excellent. That isn’t easy to find!
    The picture is crisp and clear. Having Fire built in is very convenient (one cord, not two!)
    So, why a 9 and not a 10? Because when the TV is off there is a small light (this is magnified by an inserted piece of plastic at the bottom of the set). This light uses almost no electricity but it is a bright red and, if nothing else, is distracting. Plus, even though the amount of electricity is negligible, I detest vampire use!
