The Queering of the American Child: How a New School Religious Cult Poisons the Minds and Bodies of Normal Kids Kindle Edition

American children are learning a lot about sex, "gender," and sexuality in their schools. District administrators, teachers, and even librarians are obsessed with pushing inappropriate topics onto kids, all in the name of fostering "inclusion." Children today learn that they were "assigned a sex at birth" and can change their sex or "gender" at will. Kids are no longer learning to read, write, or do math, but they are learning how to be "radical gender" activists. Meanwhile, school districts keep parents in the dark, hiding critical information about the health and well-being of their children from them.

American education wasn't like this forty years ago. The cult of Queer Theory changed everything. Inspired by the religious teachings of Michel Foucault, Judith Butler, and Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, Queer Activists "queered" American education. Schools are no longer teaching children how to flourish in society—they are initiating children into the cult of Queer Theory. Once initiated, children "experience the queer" as they adopt a new cult identity and embark on the destructive path of social and medical "transition."

In this book, The Queering of the American Child, Logan Lancing and James Lindsay explain what Queer Theory is, where it comes from, how it got into schools, and what it's doing to children nationwide. The cult of Queer Theory preys on children, and it must be understood if we are ever to stop the madness.

Logan Lancing is an author, speaker, and the founder of itsnotinschools.com. In his first book, The Woke Warpath: How Marxists Use Race and Gender to Break America, Lancing exposed the insidious ideas behind the radical movements to defund the police, radicalize children in classrooms, and trample the rights of women. He is known for his public lectures on Critical Race Theory, Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, and Queer Theory. Lancing’s website itsnotinschools.com, explains what these “woke” theories are, where they come from, and how they show up in children’s classrooms nationwide.

James Lindsay is an author, internationally recognized speaker, and the founder and president of New Discourses. He is best known for his relentless criticism of "Woke" ideology, the now-famous Grievance Studies Affair, and his bestselling books including Race Marxism and Cynical Theories, which has been translated into over twenty languages. In addition to writing and speaking, including at the Oxford Union, Library of Congress, and European Parliament, Lindsay is the voice of the New Discourses Podcast and has been a guest on prominent media outlets including The Joe Rogan Experience, Glenn Beck, Fox News, and NPR.

30+ year youth worker. Can’t recommend enough.
This book is able to encapsulates my 4 year deep dive study on Gender and Queer Theory and Practice. It’s not light reading, but it will shine a light back on the path from our current location and will illuminate the trajectory of the destination. I recommend it to every parent, youth worker, mental health professional, teacher, and human being.I think it’s a must read and know what I am asking as someone who does love reading except for a purpose. My purpose is to help kids change their lives for the better. I have come to recognize over 4 years there is a very intentional movement to do the opposite.I can tell you the exact moment the red flag went up. I was doing paperwork and overheard a coworker who was sitting in a training on LGB issues (the rest of the letters hadn’t even been added just 7-8 years ago) asked this question of the expert: “Wow, this is great information. Where did you get it?” The facilitator response was all I needed to hear, “The kids I work with told me.” You can’t make it up, but in all honesty those who created the path of critical, gender and queer theory did as well. This book shines a light on the how, who, what and the why.

It took me a long time to read, highlight, reread and digest the information in this book. It is heady stuff. I have been hearing the term Queer Theory for a while now, and I finally decided to dig in and understand what it is all about and why it has found its way into classrooms.
I will admit, I didn’t like what was revealed in this book. I found it troubling to say the least. Kids are innocent, and it seems they are being used by activists for their agendas, some of which are radical. I suspect some educators have been dupped or pressured to teach in the way activists have spelled out and will possibly have a paradigm shift after reading this book.
The concept of Queer Theory as a cult is presented, and it is a compelling point.
Logan Lancing is articulate in his book, but it will be hard for some people to read. I would have loved a glossary of terms at the end and key points or chapter summaries to help me understand the complexity of the material. But I had to start somewhere, and I am glad I read the book. If you value exercising your critical thinking skills, this book will be great for you.
Final chapter, the conclusion, provides some hope and things you can do if you are not a fan of Queer Theory after learning about it. Perhaps more hope sprinkled in before the conclusion would have been a good idea, but at least there was some hope offered.
Despite my few suggestions, this book is worthy of 5 stars for its potential to impact the reader and stimulate discussion and possibly educational reform.

Honestly, after researching so many articles, papers, and reading other books, THIS one is one of the BEST. EVERY parent, teacher, school administrator and concerned citizen should read this book. Logan Lancing expertly weaves facts into an easy to follow and consume text. The readability alone will hopefully ensure that no one wastes another minute before reading. I thank the author and James Lindsay for the excellent explanation of Queer Theory, using the words of some of the most prolific queer theorists in our time. They masterfully walk the reader through what it is, why it exists and how it is the basis for the "religious cult" poisoning the minds and bodies of normal kids. If you ever wondered why there is such a major focus on children and sexuality, this book pulls it all together and it 100% makes sense. A+++++++ to the authors for this book! 🙏🏻❤️

This book is exceptionally important for two reasons. First, it does a great job of digging into Queer Theory and explaining it in a way that makes sense. I suspect a lot of people have no idea what it even is. If you read this book, you'll have a very good idea. Second, the book does a great job of uncovering some of the horrifying things happening in government-run schools. Activists go to great lengths to keep these things secret, but these authors have pulled back the curtain and revealed these secrets. I highly recommend this book.

Lindsay and Lancing do a masterful job of explaining the underpinnings of this dangerous ideology that has imbedded itself into all of our public and many private educational systems. Reading this book will first make you angry, second make you fearful, and third make you protective of your own children and grandchildren with a sense of urgency to take action.

I have a B.S. in Family Studies and Human Development. I earned my M. Ed with a certificate in School Counseling in 2009. I worked for non-profits in, yep Social Justice programs (luckily this was mostly working with incarcerated and trafficked youth), throughout college before entering the schools. Social Emotional Learning became my world for the last 15 years. I even ran a group called Change Makers! I had every flag and safe space sticker given to me from all the "trainings" (read brainwashing) conferences I attended. In 2020 I had my daughter, COVID happened, and I started to see the world differently.

After stepping away from "education", I started seeing changes in counselor education, teacher education, and my own family related to separation because of political propaganda.

Beneath Sheep's Clothing changed my life. My blinders that were sadly attached to my eyes through my college education, were removed. I thought I was helping kids. I thought I was advocating for them to their parents. I thought I was doing the right thing but I was just THEIR pawn.

This book shows you exactly how easily adults were tricked into CRT and Queer Theory. How they used those of us with a kind heart to deliver their evil messages. If we were manipulated this easily, imagine these poor kids that are just characters in the game. These youth, who are forever changing their bodies and minds, only to be discarded or worse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important to understand the absurdities of modern policy
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 18, 2024
I purchased this book because of James Lindsay, who wrote with others the original 'Critical theories' book which started to explore the cancer of post-modernism that is turning much of academia into a venue for junk thinking, with its basis in the idea that there are no longer 'facts', but viewpoints and feelings. This new book is eye-opening and persuasive, mostly because the transgender and LGBT idealogues show themselves in plain sight, and are therefore easy targets for someone who understands the ideology that drives them, to pick apart their plans - and they are plans - to make all common sense about sexuality and education disappear.

2.0 out of 5 stars A book Like This Needed to be Written

Unfortunately this is not the book.
It is more like a rant of generalizations and accusations.
Lacking in depth. Preaching to the choir.
Anybody not yet convinced will remain unconvinced.
It remains for another person to write the book that needs to be written.
