Apply to become a new user at the National Library

• To become a registred user at the National Library of Sweden (KB) you must
  be aged 18 or over and have a valid photo ID or passport.

 

• Individuals applying for a library card and who are registered in Sweden must
  specify their home address in Sweden. Individuals who are not registered
  in Sweden must specify an address in Sweden and full details of their
  home address in their country of domicile.

 

• As a user at the National Library you are able to use material from our collections.
  Our collections contain printed material, manuscripts, ephemera, maps and also movies,
  television and radio broadcasts, music and multimedia such as computergames.
  Different part of our collections have different terms of use and due to
  special storage arrengements some items may have longer delivery times.

 

• Please note that all material belonging to the Swedish collections may only be studied
  in the Library's Reading rooms and are never borrowed for use outside the library.

 

• When you collect your Library card you must present
  your identification document and sign a user agreement which binds
  you to follow our rules.
