I had the chance to meet a recruiter through the LinkedIn platform. The recruiter has reached out to me via LinkedIn message as well sending me emails to my email requesting for my CV. Since the recruiter was so persistent, I gave in to the request and sent my resume to her. A tele-interview was set up at 6 pm SYD time. 3 minutes before the meeting, a question was sent to my LinkedIn message asking me why I would like to switch to the industry she is recruiting since I do not have any experience in that industry. I immediately replied that I do have that particular industry but it was long ago hence it wasn't mentioned in my CV. Since it was already a little over 6 pm when I replied, I went ahead to ask the recruiter if she was still proceeding with the call. There was no reply from her until I wrote to her informing her how unpleasant the whole experience was to me. I was disgusted with a person who treats their candidates like thrash the minute they realized that we do not "TICKED" all the boxes!!!!! Has anyone dealt with disgraceful attitudes and if yes, how do you deal with such people? 😡 👿 😓

HR Leader with 15+ Years in APAC & Australia | National HR Manager (ANZ) @ Ettason | Aligning Global HR Teams & Systems | Strategic Consultant & Advisor | Driving Employee Engagement, Compliance & HR Best-Practice

I have been networking all my life especially since I migrated to Australia more than 12 years ago. Networking has opened doors for me to meet other HR practitioners as well as other professionals who genuinely want to share and mentor new migrants like me. I have received lots of tips on job search as well as other handy ways to handle recruiters & interviews. Last week, I had the opportunity to assist a colleague's wife who was bullied by her manager. I was sooooo happy to receive a call from a colleague thanking me for my HR advice. My advice has assisted his wife in completely turning the situation around. This is the power of networking even within the same organization. https://lnkd.in/gk4PQipD.
