Kentucky is officially known as the "Commonwealth of Kentucky." It was the 15th state to achieve statehood. Kentucky has two major cities: Louisville and Lexington. The state is nicknamed "the Bluegrass State” because of its vast pastures.

Kentucky has two members of the U.S. Senate, a total of six members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 100 members of the House of Representatives and 38 members of the State Senate.
