The Thrill of the Rodeo in Fair Park

This isn’t our first rodeo, per say, but it is all-new for the 2024 Fair! Home of the 1959 Original National Finals Rodeowe are proud to bring a rodeo back to the historic Fair Park Coliseum this year – and each rodeo is FREE with your admission ticket to the FairFrom high-energy bull riding to wild cow milking, you won’t want to miss the Rodeo on your visit to the Fair this yearPresented by United Ag & Turf, the State Fair of Texas Rodeo will take place each weekend of the Fair during the evening.

When: Various days and weekends during the 2024 State Fair of Texas
Time: All rodeos listed below begin at 6:30 p.m (except all Sunday rodeos, which start at 2 p.m.).
Where: Fair Park Coliseum
Cost: FREE with Admission to the Fair

Each rodeo evening that the Fair hosts will feature a different kind of rodeo event. Check out the dates below and get your tickets to the Fair to enjoy the thrilling experience of a Texas rodeo.

United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) Big Tex Rodeo Series Championship: Friday, September 27 – Saturday, September 28 | 6:30 PM

State Fair of Texas Youth Rodeo Finals: Sunday, September 29 | 2 PM

State Fair of Texas Ranch Rodeo: Friday and Saturday, October 4-5 | 6:30 PM
Be sure to check out the State Fair of Texas Ranch Rodeo. Featuring ranch-working cowboys and cowgirls, see firsthand what it takes to work on a ranch. Wild cow milking, maverick branding, bucking horses – oh my!

Mexican Rodeo Fiesta: Sunday, October 6 | 2:00 PM
Closeout Opening Weekend with the Mexican Rodeo Fiesta! This rodeo will showcase Charro-style rodeo performances.

State Fair of Texas Presents Pro Rodeo Rough Stock Kickoff: Friday, October 11 – Saturday, October 12

Cowboys of Color Rodeo: Sunday, October 13 | 2:00 PM
Join us as we spotlight cowboys and cowgirls from all different backgrounds, including Black, Indigenous, and Latino riders. This rodeo will highlight these cowboys of color but will feature individuals from a variety of communities. This event is designed to promote the diversity of rodeo and amplify riders who are often underrepresented in the sport. From barrel racing to calf roping, folks of all ages are welcome to cheer them on from the Coliseum seats.

United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) World Finals: October 17 – October 20
Come out and watch these professional cowboys and cowgirls compete in the historic Coliseum for the UPRA Year-End Finale Rodeo.  The State Fair of Texas will host 6 performances to culminate with a championship ceremony on the last Sunday of the Fair.
