Since 1968, Finica Food Specialties Ltd. has imported and distributed specialty artisan cheese and gourmet food items from around the world. Our core success has been built around the specialty cheese market. We started as the exclusive Importer for Finland branded cheeses. We have since expanded our line to include cheeses from Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Wales and the United States. We Pride ourselves in developing Canadian manufacturers' products into success stories. An example is the birth 16 years ago of Celebrity International Goat Cheeses from Lindsay Ontario. We have garnered awards all over North America for our products, and most recently in 2014, we placed first in both the Best Sheep's Milk and Best Goat's Milk category, for our Tania Sheep's Milk Cheese and Lindsay Bandaged Cheddar, respectively. In July 1995, Finica joined the Gellert Global Group of companies (www.gellertglobalgroup.com), which includes Atalanta Corporation (www.atalantacorp.com), a leading and driving force in the food importing and international trading business. Atalanta has established itself in three continents with agents in almost every major commerce centre in the world. Today, Finica Foods Specialties Limited operates as a sister company of Atalanta. Our customer base includes Retail Chain and Independents and Foodservice. Our Distribution network is made up of Specialty Cheese and Food Distributors across Canada. Today, our offering includes some of the most popular cheeses found in deli counters, unique specialty items like artichokes, olives and salamis, as well as artisanal balsamic vinegars and fine olive oils.

We're proud to be able to do our part for a country in need.
On March 20th, Finica was pleased to co-host with the Ukrainian Embassy in Canada the Art of Ukrainian Food, a reception which featured a selection of unique Ukrainian food and drink, such as Pyriatin cheese, which will be in available for purchase in select stores across Canada in early April. In bringing a taste of Ukraine to Ottawa, we wanted to highlight Ukraine’s culinary culture and the quality products crafted in the country. More than two years after the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine continues to depend on exporting food to sustain its economy. Buying Ukrainian is a great way for Canadians to show their support. Thank you to Minister Ng for speaking and MPs Yvan Baker, James Bezan, Simon-Pierre Savard-Tremblay and Richard Cannings for sponsoring our event. We can’t thank you, and everyone who attended, enough for your support. We are proud to have done our small part to support Ukraine and its food, beverage and agriculture sectors. Slava Ukraini! Cette réception, organisée en collaboration avec l'ambassade d'Ukraine au Canada, a permis de présenter une sélection d'aliments typiquement ukrainiens. Les invités ont notamment pu goûter le fromage Pyriatin, qui sera en vente au Canada au début avril. En apportant un goût de l’Ukraine à Ottawa, nous voulions mettre en valeur la culture culinaire de l'Ukraine et les produits de qualité fabriqués dans le pays. Plus de deux ans après l'invasion russe, l'Ukraine continue de dépendre de l'exportation de produits alimentaires pour soutenir son économie. Acheter des produits ukrainiens est un excellent moyen pour les Canadiens de montrer leur soutien.
