Caring and teamwork are core company values that we live every day at Staples across the country. We make meaningful connections in every community in which we operate through associate engagement, charitable donations, and participation in initiatives that support equity, education, and the environment. From donating school supplies so students are set up for success to raising awareness of inequity in Canada, we strive to make our communities better for everyone by opening doors and removing barriers. We demonstrate our commitment to Community Impact and Sustainability through action, such as raising more than $2.1 million in support of MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions through our #EventheOdds campaign and planting more than 230,000 trees throughout our 15-year partnership with Tree Canada / Arbres Canada. Our dedication drives us to act responsibly within the communities we serve, ensures our operations are conducted ethically and sustainably and is anchored around our three pillars – Equity, Education and Environment. With these pillars as our guide, we work to help foster a country where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.  None of this progress would have been possible without the support of our incredible Staples associates coming together as #OneTeam from coast to coast. This week, we were thrilled to host an array of local 2SLGBTQI+ vendors at our Richmond Hill office for a vibrant pop-up shop. It was a day filled with colour, creativity, and community spirit. While browsing the unique offerings, we were reminded of the importance of supporting our 2SLGBTQI+ businesses. These entrepreneurs bring a wealth of diversity and innovation to our economy, and it’s crucial that we champion their work not just during #PrideMonth, but year-round. The pop-up shop was more than just a marketplace; it was a celebration of the strength and resilience of the 2SLGBTQI+ community. Each purchase was a pledge of support to these incredible creators who overcome barriers every day to share their passions with the world. At Staples, we believe that diversity is our strength and Pride @ Staples is one of several BRGs associates can join to contribute to creating a culture of belonging. It provides support, education, and networking to our 2SLGBTQI+ community and allies. The group’s mission is to create an inclusive environment that recognizes and celebrates the 2SLGBTQI+ community, where all associates belong and have a safe space to be their authentic selves. As part of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Staples, we’re proud to offer BRGs focused on support for equity-deserving communities. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gJPB2_pM

At Staples, we know that our associates are the heartbeat of our organization. We were proud to celebrate them as we came together for our annual Summer #AssociateAppreciation events! With activities happening throughout the months of June and July, teams across the country joined in the fun to recognize the dedication and commitment of our associates in always going above and beyond for our customers. From ice cream trucks to team barbecues, growth and development career sessions, and more – the events were a great way to celebrate the power of Staples community coming together to celebrate as #OneTeam.

As our associates participated in #PrideMonth events throughout June, we were thrilled to welcome Toronto Drag Queen Bebe Brunjes at our Richmond Hill office. Our fabulous host of an unforgettable afternoon of laughter and learning, wrapping up celebrations with fun and challenging Pride-themed trivia, both in-person and broadcast virtually for associates across Canada! Drag is more than just glitter, sequins, and wigs – it’s a powerful form of self-expression, artistry and resilience. Drag queens and kings have been at the forefront of 2SLGBTQI+ visibility, and by embracing their authentic selves, they inspire others to do the same. Hosted by the Pride @ Staples Business Resource Group (BRG), this inclusive event brought together our associates from across the country to learn more about the history of Pride in Canada - and around the world - to educate and expand our knowledge about all members who make up this vibrant community. At Staples, we believe that diversity is our strength and Pride @ Staples is one of several BRGs associates can join to contribute to creating a culture of belonging. It provides support, education and networking to our 2SLGBTQI+ community and allies. This past weekend, we kickstarted a series of Staples Kids Learn + Play events at select Staples stores to celebrate the expansion of this play-based learning concept throughout the country. We marked the occasion with fun activities, like free ice cream, balloon art, hands-on #StaplesSpotlight events, face painting and more. Since the introduction of Staples Kids last year, we have successfully grown to more than 100 locations to help enhance play-based learning and foster kids' growth through a curated collection of tools and toys. We couldn't be more excited to bring this concept to a Staples store near you.   We invite you and your family to join us at the next Staples Kids Learn + Play event. Check out our Facebook events page to find an event near you: https://lnkd.in/gwYfppdi
