*** The longest highway in the world *** Pan American Highway (multiple countries) Stretching from Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay to the tip of Argentina, the Pan American Highway passes through more than a dozen countries. It’s easily the longest road in the world. But since it’s a network instead of a single highway, estimates of its length vary from 11,000 miles to 30,000 miles, depending on the source you consult and the roads you include. One note in case you’re thinking about driving the whole thing: At the point where Central America meets South America, the Pan American Highway is interrupted by 60 miles of wilderness known as the Darien Gap. You’ll have to travel this stretch via boat or plane.

Precision and Teamwork: Successful Demolition Making Space for New Generators A hydro-generating station in northern Manitoba required space for new generators. The initial phase involved demolishing robust walls and floors, with the most intricate challenge being the saw cutting and removal of massive stators into manageable pieces for transport. Our team faced diverse and frequent requests from the general contractor and customer. Each demand required a unique approach, leveraging a broad array of tools and the deep well of knowledge our team possessed. The goal was to provide top-notch service while adhering strictly to the project schedule. One of the pivotal strategies for mitigating potential issues was fostering a spirit of cooperation among all trades and contractors involved. By working side-by-side, we ensured every task could be completed efficiently, without bottlenecks or delays. This collaborative environment was instrumental in maintaining the project's momentum and ensuring that each phase was executed precisely. Utilizing our skilled personnel, advanced equipment, and extensive experience, we executed intricate cutting schemes that maximized efficiency in removing large-scale concrete and steel structures. Great to see this project progressing - https://lnkd.in/e3wtiKCe Back in 2017, Bauer Technologies was appointed to install three up to 120m deep diaphragm wall shafts, with diameters between 8m and 35m. The extremely challenging ground conditions demanded three cutters on the project; two MC96 machines and an MC128 carrying HDS120 hose drum systems and BC40 cutter units. Bauer had to deploy a number of combinations of cutter wheel configurations to optimise performance, and in addition, the wheels were equipped with three types of teeth in nine variations of size, position and strength. *Liebherr crawler concrete pump for deep foundation* Liebherr is showcasing a THS 110 D-K crawler concrete pump at World of Concrete 2024. This unit is particularly suited for the deep foundation application due to its performance, reliability and flexibility. The concrete pump mounted on a crawler chassis can be conveniently controlled via a radio remote control. The THS 110 D-K crawler concrete pump is ideal for bored pile foundations to supply concrete to any foundation machine. This work involves deep drilling holes to prepare the ground for construction. When the drill is pulled out, these holes are filled with concrete. In the process, the concrete is conveyed down via a tube in the middle of the drill. The crawler concrete pump travels in parallel with the drilling rig to the various pile locations, with the concrete hose remaining connected to the drilling rig. The Liebherr crawler concrete pump is also suitable for various other types of pumping applications. Data exchange via radio optimizes workflows on the construction site The crawler concrete pump and the drilling rig are connected by radio and can thus communicate and exchange information on the construction site. The recurring processes of drilling, pulling and pumping can thus be optimized. The operator of the drilling rig can start and stop the pumping process from his cab, accurate to the second. This contributes to both simpler and more efficient workflows taking less time. Two high-quality models: robust, powerful and easy to maintain The robust crawler concrete pump is available in two performance classes, the THS 110 D-K and the THS 140 D-K. Both types are equipped with powerful six-cylinder engines. The powerful pump units run very quietly and have minimal line surge on the foundation machine mast. The hydraulic system is particularly easy to maintain thanks to the open loop hydraulic circuit. The design also facilitates the replacement of wearing parts, which greatly simplifies servicing. The shape of the feed hopper without edges or protrusions also reduces concrete build-up. The machine's extensive equipment also includes a spacious 132-gallon water tank with water pump and a lockable toolbox. Exciting progress in the international world of tunneling! The completion of excavation on Lot 2 of Paris's new metro Line 16 marks a major milestone. With an impressive 29km-long tunnel, this project is set to transform transport in the city. Notably, the use of precast fiber-reinforced concrete segments for the tunnel lining has not only improved its strength but also reduced the amount of steel required. Innovation at its finest! Line 16 is part of the ambitious Grand Paris Express, a 200km network that will connect the city center with surrounding urban areas. This extensive project involves extending the existing Line 14 and constructing four new metro lines (15, 16, 17, and 18).
