These 'comfortable' sandals are perfect for my wide feet — and they're under $30 for Amazon Prime Day 2024

I have bad luck with sandals. I have wide feet, so it's always a bit of a gamble. From narrow soles to stubborn straps, it seemed like I was destined to stick to flip-flops. But when I stumbled upon an adorable pair of elastic gladiator sandals on sale on Amazon ahead of Prime Day 2024 that had more than 7,900 reviews — 5,500 of which are a perfect five-star — I thought they were worth a try.

Now, after a month of owning them, I can't stop wearing them everywhere I go — and with every outfit I own. They're stylish yet practical and great for wide feet. Read on for my full review and to see why I think you should snap them up — especially at their sale price.

The details

These lightweight gladiator flats have elastic straps that are easy to adjust and a non-slip rubber sole that eases pressure on the foot.

The grip isn't too loose or tight, so my feet always feel in place. I can drive for a good 30 minutes with them and run errands for hours without my feet feeling sore.

The sandal's crisscross design adds personality to the shoe and every outfit you wear it with. If white shoes aren't your thing (I get it), these cute sandals come in 15 other colours, including two glittering varieties that would be perfect for a wedding.

If you suffer from blisters, these may be right up your alley. The back of the shoe is crafted to act as an anti-blister guard, ensuring that you can wear them for extended periods without any discomfort. The padded design provides ample support, preventing the least amount of blisters from forming.

What I like about them

Fits like a glove: My feet don’t feel like they're going to fall off the shoes, because the elastic straps hold them so well. The sole covers them entirely, making things as secure as possible. Though I still get the outline from the straps after hours of wearing it, my feet aren't in as much pain as other sandals I've worn.

Super comfortable: I rarely have any foot pain or strain when wearing these lightweight and comfortable sandals. They've taken me from the grocery store, to the bank, to errands, to coffee with a friend — which is a level of comfort I haven't experienced with other sandals.

Blister-free: I haven't gotten a blister from the sandals yet, and I don't see that happening any time soon. The shoe's build is practical and offers support and blister prevention.

So stylish: These sandals aren't only comfy — they go with pretty much any summer outfit and are incredibly versatile, whether paired with a maxi dress or a T-shirt and jeans. I've even worn them to formal events!

Wide foot-approved: It’s hard to find wide-footed options for dressier sandals, but these fit my wide feet comfortably and with no issues.

What I didn't like

Stiff straps (at first): The first time I put the sandals on, the straps were a bit stiff and I really had to pull to get them on. But with each wear the elastic has stretched and become more comfortable. They're not quite slip ons yet — but they're close.

Tight on the toes: The breathing room around the front isn’t as comfortable or generous as that of a standard flip-flop or pair of slides. With extended wear, these can pinch your pinky toes.

Not an all-day shoe: Regardless of how comfortable they are, they don’t replace running shoes or sneakers. The sandals are best on flat ground, along with intervals of standing and sitting throughout — so while I can easily wear them for errands, I wouldn't wear them for a day in the park or to a concert.

With almost 8,000 reviews and an average 4.4-star rating, shoppers love these sandals — and some say they plan to buy them in more colourways.

Several five-star reviewers shared that they packed the shoe on their recent travels, and another — who has multiple pairs — said she "absolutely adored" how easy these were to walk in on the Las Vegas strip.

Another loved the fact that the shoes stay in place even when driving. She said they “fits her perfectly” and were "light and comfortable."

One shopper even wore them for her engagement photos, while another bought them as something to change into at a wedding. She thought they would be a "one and done" wear, but was pleasantly surprised by their comfort and said she now considers them her summer go-to.

While I wouldn't wear them for an entire daily, they're very comfortable, even on wide feet, and they're a great bargain — especially at their early Prime Day price. I know I'll be turning to them time and time again this summer.
