Haydee Barahona is a fourth-year communications major with an emphasis in journalism at California State University, Bakersfield. She was born in the San Fernando Valley but raised in the Central Valley. Barahona is the current editor-in-chief of CSUB’s student newspaper, The Runner, where she found her passion for investigative and data-driven journalism and sharing human interest stories about her community. Previously, she worked as The Runner’s editor for Converge magazine and as the news editor.
