Good basic tablet
I’ve been wanting a tablet for awhile for personal use such as watch videos, play games, and scroll social media. I have always been solely an Apple user but the iPads were out of my price range. I knew nothing about Samsung or the android operating system so I did a lot of research before ordering this tablet. It was incredibly affordable which initially made me skeptical, but the reviews seemed promising so I took the plunge and ordered. Immediately, I noticed the drastic difference between Apple and Samsung. It was a bit of a learning curve for me, but I just played around with the settings and quickly got the hang of it. Dare I say…as a 15 year Apple and iPhone user, I am very impressed with this tablet and am even considering making the switch to an android phone as well! The ability to customize is just amazing. You can customize just about every single aspect on this tablet. Designing my home screen was so fun, there’s so much creative opportunity! I can get every app that I have on my iPhone, minus the basic Apple apps which is fine! If you do have a Samsung phone, connecting it will be super easy. I was able to easily find how to do it while I was playing around in the settings. This tablet is very pretty and sleek, with a thin, light-weight build that will make traveling with it easy. The battery life is really good; a full charge will last me an entire day! I do notice that I have to restart it at least once every other day or else the operating system will really slow down. That’s a little annoying but it’s fine. Keep in mind how I mentioned in the beginning that I only use it for basic use anyway. If you are someone that needs more something more advanced, then I would suggest paying the extra money for something higher-quality. This tablet would be perfect for anyone who only needs the basics when it comes to tablets, or even kids as well!

This is my first Samsung Galaxy tablet and its performance is smooth, polished and reliable. But I'd give it 4 and 1/2 stars if I could. I hate the keyboard. When you want to use emojis, hand gestures, animals and all that -- it's divided up into separate sections instead of one page. So when you want to access say a hand gesture instead of a face, you have to press a button at the top of the keyboard to get to it. And if there isn't a symbol for what you want at top of the keyboard, you have to hit the search to find it. I find this very inconvenient. After all the fuss I've heard about Samsung Galaxy, I can't believe how small and clumsy this keyboard is. Charging takes awhile, so I'm using a block -- plugging it into the wall seems to improve the speed of the recharge. The charger cable that comes with it is very short and flimsy -- so I'm using a sturdier cable I bought for it. Setup for this tab was the worst I've ever experienced. I was ordered to get an app in my Playstore called SmartSwitch in order to set it up. Google Setup has always worked fine for me with every other tab I've purchased, but I wasn't allowed to use it with this one. It had to be SMART SWITCH or not at all, which required me to plunk out $7.50 with my credit card! And the setup was no better than Google and took a few hours besides. I paid extra and bought the 8gb version of this tablet because I'm a serious gamer and I must have speed. I used it constantly this past weekend during my online team tournament and it worked very smoothly with long lasting battery life. It's been interesting to check out a Samsung Galaxy at last and it is a beautiful tablet well worth having.

I love that I was able to buy this tablet on a payment plan with Amazon. Even though my credit is pretty good, I get turned down by Affirm because I have a limited credit history. So it was a blessing to get this tablet with a no interest, payment plan with Amazon. Anyway, about the tablet, I got the one with 8g ram & 128g storage & this is the best tablet I've ever used. I bought it to specifically play the game "Asphalt Unite." Before, I was playing this game on my laptop that has an i5 processor, 8g ram, 225g SSD & a basic integrated GPU. It's a decent laptop but it struggled to run the game smoothly. I had to set the graphics to "very low" & it looked horrible & it still ran choppy. With this tablet, I can play the game set on the highest graphics setting available & it looks & runs beautifully. It's everything I wanted in a good laptop but for half the cost. It's not a full fledge gaming tablet & it won't run high consumption games at the highest settings, but it will play most games pretty well. It is the best tablet you will find at this price & it should work well far into the future. My only complaint with this tablet is that the touch screen isn't sensitive enough. It seemed fine when I first got it & before I added a screen protector. It has a setting for increased sensitivity with screen protectors, but it doesn't seem to help. I can't get the tablet to respond to normal pressure when it's sitting upright in it's case. I have to hold the back of the tablet for support & use enough pressure that it would knock the tabket over if I weren't holding the back. It's not such heavy pressure that it would risk damaging the tablet, but it's more pressure than any other phone or tablet that I've used. Although, I may need to blame the screen protector for this problem. I bought a two pack of screen protectors & the first protector that came out of the pack was defective & broke while I was removing the rear sticker. So the second one may not be the right specifications & it may be to thick or something. If I replace the screen protector & find that the touch screen works the way it should, I'll come back & edit this review. But even with limited touch sensitivity, this is still the best tablet I've ever used & the best tablet you'll find at this price.
