What is
REACH?

The Resilient Environment & Agricultural Caribbean Habitats (REACH) project is a collaborative effort among regional and international implementing partners. Under the administration of the Food & Agricultural Organisation (FAO), the partners include the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the Italian International Centre on Environmental Monitoring (CIMA) Research Foundation. The project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and was launched in April 2019 in the two recipient countries St. Lucia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Since the launch, the implementing partners have been working alongside the Ministries of Agriculture in both countries to implement project activities.

AWS Installation

The Acrotec Foundation is making it possible to increase the number of weather stations for environmental monitoring, helping operators to identify more precisely areas where very heavy rains or floods could develop. This agro-meteorological station measures wind speed & direction, leaf wetness sensor, net solar radiation, rainfall, air temperature & relative humidity.

R.E.A.C.H Launch
