A warm welcome to the B&B team! 🤗 🎉 We are very excited to welcome five new apprentices and two dual students in August. Our many years of experience as a training company enable us to continuously support young talents and provide them with the best possible start to their careers. This year, we are training in the fields of Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Technician, Precision Mechanics Technician, and Technical Product Designer. We are particularly proud to have two dual students in the fields of Industrial Engineering & Sustainable Development and ETS Mechanical Engineering. ⚙️ We look forward to the coming years with our new apprentices and dual students and are excited to support and accompany them on their journey.

We are moving in: Our new office extension is finished!   After many months of building and waiting, we can finally move into our new office extension. We have been working on it since last autumn and the result is impressive: 12 new offices are now available to our staff. There are also two modern meeting rooms that can be combined into one large room when needed - perfect for our meetings. 😄   Moving to a new office not only means fresh colours and a breath of fresh air, but also a lot of packing boxes, emptying cupboards and moving files. 😅 📦 🗄️ 🗃️ But it all pays off when you see the new, modern workspaces.    A particular highlight is our new showroom. In the future, we will present a variety of innovative packaging samples to show customers and interested parties how our solutions work in practice and what added value they offer. #Officeextension #Showroom #Packagingsolutions #Growth

Overshoot Day - a critical moment to think about our ecological footprint 🌍   The day on which the world as a whole consumed more resources and produced more emissions than the global ecosystem could regenerate or compensate for in one year was 2 August 2023. This year it is expected to be one day earlier, on 1 August. Germany reached overshoot day 2024 on 2 May - two days earlier than in 2023. This means that Germany already used up its budget of sustainable resources and controllable emissions for this year in early May - almost eight months early. As an engineering company, we feel it is our responsibility to do something about this trend. By constantly developing our technologies and rethinking our business processes, we can also make our contribution to reducing the consumption of resources: 1. reduce material consumption 📦, waste 🚮 and energy ⚡️ 2. modular systems mean that our machines can always be adapted to the latest standards -this maximises their useful life and reduces the need for new resources 3. our machines allow the use of recyclable mono-materials ♻️ 4. using the latest technologies to significantly reduce the energy consumption of our machines 5. sustainable partnerships with customers and suppliers   We can also motivate our employees to think more about their personal footprint and make sustainable choices in their daily lives. 🎓✨ On Thursday, July 4th, 2024, we were delighted to host 40 students from the Höhere Handelsschule of the Hüberts’sche Schule Hopsten. The two groups, specializing in Business Administration and Informatics, attentively listened to presentations by Christian Moß, Stefanie Üffing, and Robert Wölte from our Software department and toured our facility. We were thrilled by the high level of interest from our visitors and look forward to welcoming some of them back in the future! 💪 🙌 The day before, B&B Verpackungstechnik GmbH was represented at the Harkenberg Gesamtschule Hörstel training fair. This week we welcomed Stefan Adam (TAFH Münster), Heiner Hoffschroer, (WVS) and Varvara Leinz (WESt mbH). During the interesting and productive meeting with Stefan Kurtenbach, Stefanie Üffing and Stefan Becker, we discussed key topics that are relevant to us as a company and employer. The focus was on sustainable business processes ♻️🌍, digitalization, the recruitment and training of specialists, and the further development of our Münsterland site. On June 11th and 12th, Jörn-Peter Bäumer, Stefan Kurtenbach and Alexander Bannach attended the Packaging Machinery Conference in Munich to get an in-depth look at the latest trends and developments in the packaging machinery industry. The conference started with a stocktaking: Where is the German packaging machinery industry? Digitalization and automation played a significant role, with a key focus on the EU Cyber Resilience Act. Sustainability in mechanical engineering was a central theme. Various approaches and models were presented on how to integrate sustainability into business strategies. Another important point was the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The new regulations and their impact on the industry were discussed in detail. Finally, the expectations of the engineering industry regarding the implementation of sustainability reporting under the new CSRD Directive were discussed. Exciting days at the training fair in Rheine and at the career day in Mettingen. Our HR Manager Stefanie Üffing and some of our trainees presented our apprenticeship and dual study programs. Our fair team was available for three days to answer questions from interested young people. Such events are very important to us, as they not only give us the opportunity to recruit qualified young people, but also to present ourselves as a consistent and modern employer in the region.
