When it comes to a weekend with the Super Bowl on, the choice of what to watch on the small screen should be pretty straightforward.
Yet, despite Sunday’s face-off between hometown Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium, there’s a lot more on than just the NFL’s big game – as you can see in the video above.
Besides the actually pro-football game itself, there’s the historic hip-hop heavy halftime show, as we mentioned in our The Deadline Watchlist earlier this week. The first Super Bowl halftime show to have rap at its core, the line-up of Dr. Dre, now Death Row Records owner Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem is also all icons for all of the 12-minute Pepsi-sponsored concert.

The same day at the Super Bowl on NBC, streaming cousin Peacock has the launch of Bel-Air on Peacock.
Born out of Morgan Cooper’s 2019 viral short, the 10-episode first season re-imaging of classic 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air stars newcomer Jabari Banks in the Will role played by Will Smith in the original West Philly fish out of water show. Picked up for two seasons by Peacock, the gritty Bel-Air also features Adrian Holmes as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks, Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones as Hilary Banks, Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks, Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey, Jordan L. Jones as Jazz, and Simone Joy Jones as Lisa.
Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal Television are producing Bel-Air, with Cooper serving as creator, director, co-writer and EP.
Inspired by the New York Magazine article “How an Aspiring ‘It’ Girl Tricked New York’s Party People — and its Banks,” Shondland and Netflix’s Inventing Anna debuts on the streamer today. Led by Julia Garner and Anna Chlumsky the nine-episode limited series from executive producer and showrunner Shonda Rhimes probes not only the mystery of socialite scammer and fake German heiress Anna Delvey (real name Anna Sorokin), but the post-modern American Dream itself.
Inventing Anna also stars Arian Moayed, Katie Lowes, Alexis Floyd, Anders Holm, Anna Deavere Smith, Jeff Perry, Terry Kinney and Laverne Cox. The series is EP’d by Rhimes with Shondaland’s Betsy Beers, Tom Verica and David Frankel. Writers include Rhimes, Matt Byrne, Jess Brownell, Abby Ajayi, Nick Nardini. Directors are Frankel, Verica, Daisy Von Scherler Mayer, Ellen Kuras and Nzingha Stewart.
Investigating America’s real history and present from the POV of people of color, Showtime’s Everything’s Gonna Be All White premieres tonight on the ViacomCBS-owned cabler and online. With a trio of episodes and a special bonus episode, the Sacha Jenkins’ directed docuseries is punctuated by various vignettes. The docuseries also features discussions with Jemele Hill, Amanda Seales, Favianna Rodriguez and more on topics such as General Custer, hip-hop legend Roxanne Shanté’ and Mt. Rushmore.
