Founded in 2009, our story began as a small Denmark-based company with a passion and purpose to contribute to a greener future through the trading of wood pellets. Today, CM Biomass is considered the world’s largest biomass and wood pellet trading company, present with offices in 13 key markets and with a team of over 240 dedicated employees worldwide. We are proud to trade over 3.6 million tonnes of biomass annually, with an installed production capacity of approximately 1 million tonnes. Our success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the trust and support of our partners and clients. Together, we have grown and innovated, continuously striving to lead the way in the biomass industry. We are proud to announce this year’s annual result as our best yet 🌲 This year, we have traded 3.6 million tonnes of biomass and now employ nearly 250 people across our locations in 13 countries from Seoul to the US and many places in between 🌍 This year, above all, has been a remarkable year of development for CM Biomass. We have worked diligently to ensure strong and valid certification and documentation for our sustainable biomass sourcing, expanded and fine-tuned our production plants, and increased our investments into upgrading our internal competencies. All while delivering an EBT of EUR 41 million 🚀 We are excited for the coming year, as we continue our strong progression and determination to be the preferred flexible biomass provider while enabling a sustainable transition of carbon emission heavy industries towards biofuels.

🌟 Update from the Argus Media #ArgusBiomassConfernece in London! 🌟 We're pleased to be attending the Argus Biomass Conference in London, where discussions on the future of bioenergy are underway! Today, our CEO, Morten Hultberg Buchgreitz joined the Keynote panel “Sustainability beyond the obvious: How will bioenergy become a widely acccepted source of renewable power?”. Morten highlights the importance of participating in discussions & dialogues on the sustainability of Biomass among other at conferences as the Argus: "Participating in conferences like the Argus Biomass Conference is crucial for industry collaboration and progress. It's through events like these that we can collectively discuss and chart a path forward for the renewable energy sector." CM Biomass grows into new offices At CM Biomass we are extraordinarily excited this Spring! 🐣 Following a growth spurt for the past two years including renovating and adding nine new production facilities to our capacity in the USA and one in Denmark, while also more than doubling the workforce globally, we have further taken a frog leap forward and moved our headquarters into brand new offices 🏢 "You could say that we are growing up and moving out. In our existing headquarters, we shared both premises and back-office functions with our former parent company Copenhagen Merchants. This has been a good starting point, but as we have brought on new owners and expanded the organisation, we now need our own place,” says Morten Buchgreitz, CEO of CM Biomass. This week our colleagues Victor Smith & Elizabete Nīna Jēgermane joined the Decarb Connect Conference in the UK, focusing on decarbonising the emission-heavy industries. In connection with the conference they had the opportunity to visit Drax Power Station in Selby.
