We are thrilled to announce that our high-pressure pumps have played a crucial role in setting a new world record for Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) energy efficiency! This achievement, led by the DESAL+ Living Lab in Spain, could have significant consequences for a thirsty world facing the combined threats of water scarcity and climate change. By utilizing Danfoss High Pressure Pumps' advanced positive displacement pumps, the project achieved an impressive energy efficiency of 1.861 kWh/m³, surpassing the previous record. This breakthrough not only reduces operational costs but also significantly lowers the carbon footprint of desalination plants, making fresh water more accessible to even more communities worldwide. We are proud to be part of this innovative solution and look forward to continuing our efforts together with industry partners in making SWRO and other high-pressure membrane processes even more energy efficient. Buildings account for around 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU, yet renovation rates languish at a mere 1% per year – far below the 2.5% needed to meet net-zero by 2050 according to the IEA. The revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) mandates all buildings be decarbonized by 2050 (with key targets for 2030 also included). Andrea Voigt, VP, Head of Global Public Affairs at Danfoss, highlights the critical need for collaboration: "To change this, we need close collaboration between the public and private sector, hands-on experience, and pragmatic solutions. At Danfoss, we stand ready to support with readily available technology and welcome the Renovation Revolution’s initiatives to further spread the word." Check out this blog from Climate Group to discover more about how we can work together to accelerate deep renovations and drive energy efficiency. https://lnkd.in/eunKWMsT Join the conversation on driving up renovation rates in Europe! #RenovationRevolution #EnergyEfficiency

Connectivity solutions and #AI are changing the way #HVAC and #refrigeration systems operate. Building owners can utilize connected systems to optimize energy usage, receive alerts on pending maintenance issues and ensure their systems are performing at peak level. But what should building owners know before making the investment and how can they utilize connected systems to their full advantage. In Danfoss North America’s recent EnVisioneering Exchange #podcast, “Bringing Connectivity and AI into HVAC/R,” Michael Kellerman of EnVisioneering Exchange shares his insight on how connectivity and AI are changing the future of buildings and HVAC/R. https://bit.ly/4fzOsOU #Foodretail #Sustainability #AI #Connectivity #EnVisioneeringExchange

We're committed to becoming our customers' preferred decarbonization partner, but we can't do it on our own. Close partnerships have never been more important. It's a joint effort. To drive down emissions across the entire value chain, we need to learn from one another. And what better way to do that than by bringing in experts, partners, and cases to discuss what we know already works and how to implement it. That is exactly what we dive into in upcoming episodes of our Decarbonization Explained series. Take a closer look at what to expect from the series https://bit.ly/4cgY3YF #DecarbonizationExplained #Decarbonization #ESG #Energyefficiency #Greentransition #Climatechange #Sustainability #DecarbIndustries #DecarbTransport #DecarbBuildings #DecarbEnergysystems #Energymix

While green hydrogen is hailed by some as a silver bullet, it is critiqued by others as an expensive resource captured by the fossil fuel industry. But silver-bullet thinking and polarizing debates won’t get us to net zero. Green hydrogen will play a critical role in the transition away from fossil fuels. Now we must implement innovative solutions to produce it efficiently. The good news is that we already have the necessary technologies to scale green hydrogen production without breaking the bank or the energy grid. With a growing global population, maximizing energy efficiency is no longer optional – it's essential. One often-overlooked solution? Excess heat. Believe it or not, in the EU alone, the amount of excess heat can almost cover the bloc’s total annual energy demand for heat and hot water in residential and service sector buildings. By capturing and repurposing this heat, we can: ✓ Reduce energy demand ✓ Lower energy prices for consumers and businesses ✓ Help stabilize the future electricity grid ✓ Accelerate the green transition Danfoss has the technologies to harness this potential, turning heavy energy consumers into energy providers through sector integration and district energy systems. Learn how excess heat can be harvested and reused everywhere across society: https://lnkd.in/emQBTWSx #Decarbonization #EnergyEfficiency #WhyEE #GreenTransition #DemandSideFlexibility #DanfossImpact

Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time. It is also where we at Danfoss engineer the solutions needed to support the decarbonization of the industries we serve. By decarbonizing our own global operations and addressing key phases in our sustainability journey, we apply the same approach that we offer our customers. We call it: Reduce, Reuse, Re-source: ✅ First, we apply energy-efficient solutions to reduce energy consumption and increase machine productivity. ✅ Second, we reuse energy through energy recovery and sector coupling. ✅ Third, we source any remaining demand from clean energy sources such as renewable electricity and green hydrogen. Only in this sequence can we achieve rapid and cost-efficient decarbonization. And the best thing is that most of the solutions already exist today. If you want to learn more about how it works, sign up for our Decarbonization Explained newsletter https://bit.ly/45wgxlw #DecarbonizationExplained #Decarbonization #ESG #Energyefficiency #Greentransition #Climatechange #Sustainability #DecarbIndustries #DecarbTransport #DecarbBuildings #DecarbEnergysystems #Energymix

The global construction industry faces a dual challenge: meeting the demand for new infrastructure while drastically reducing its environmental impact. With 230 billion square meters of new construction projected over the next 40 years, the need for sustainable solutions is more critical than ever. Heavy-duty machinery, a cornerstone of construction, consumes vast amounts of fossil fuels, resulting in substantial greenhouse gas emissions. However, readily available energy efficiency solutions offer a pathway to immediate emissions reductions in both diesel and hybrid machines, and enhance the business case for electric drivetrains, paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable construction sector.
