Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)

Premiere Date: July 26, 2024

Swinging into July’s most anticipated spot is none other than the unlikely yet dynamic duo of Deadpool & Wolverine. After spending six quiet years away from life as Deadpool, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is prompted by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to take on a new mission. When a force threatens everything they care about (which isn’t a lot), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) reluctantly joins the Merc with a Mouth to save their universe. Will Marvel and Deadpool fans be able to make this a bigger hit than Inside Out 2?

No. 2

MaXXXine (2024)

Premiere Date: July 5, 2024

Behind Deadpool in the second most anticipated slot is the sultry slasher horror entry, MaXXXine. Mia Goth reprises her role as the fame-hungry adult film actress Maxine Minx as she navigates 1980s Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a Hollywood starlet. The third installment of Ti West’s X trilogy finds Maxine maneuvering through the industry all the while avoiding the clutches of the infamous “Night Stalker.” Amassing a cult-like following after X and Pearl, the franchise’s newest R-rated chronicle opens in early July.

No. 3

Twisters (2024)

Premiere Date: July 19, 2024

Twirling in at third most anticipated is the disaster epic Twisters. Following a group of storm chasers testing out a radical new tornado tracking system, the film featuring Glen Powell, Kiernan Shipka, and Anthony Ramos will crash into theaters in mid-July. Oscar-nominated director Lee Isaac Chung takes the helm after receiving widespread acclaim for 2020’s Minari, offering a new perspective into the world of natural disaster films.

No. 4

Longlegs (2024)

Premiere Date: July 12, 2024

Emerging not far behind Twisters is Oz Perkins’ upcoming horror flick Longlegs. A satanic serial killer known as Longlegs (Nicolas Cage) is on the loose, and Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), a new FBI agent, is tasked with bringing him to justice. Deciphering code messages and uncovering otherworldly beasts becomes an integral routine of Harker’s work as she constantly teeters on the line between freedom and possession. Blair Underwood, Kiernan Shipka, and Jason Day join Monroe and Cage in the eerie thriller that arrives in theaters on July 12, 2024.

No. 5

Dandelion (2024)

Premiere Date: June 12, 2024

Finishing off the list is the feel-good indie picture Dandelion. Aspiring songstress Dandelion (Kiki Layne) is following her dream of becoming a musician when she meets the ruggedly handsome, guitar-playing Casey (Thomas Doherty). Together, the couple navigates the intersection of their respective careers while falling into a whirlwind romance. Premiering at South by Southwest in March, the film, written and directed by Nicole Riegel, received positive reviews from critics and anticipates a July 12, 2024 release.
